very good location and good food, friendly staff!!

The en suite was very nicely appointed and had a walk in shower. The room was not large but it was perfectly adequate for our few days there. We were a little surprised that there were no drawers or cupboards, just a fold out arm for clothes hangers (which we had fortunately brought with us!) and a bedside shelf. No aircon in the bedroom but fans were provided. There was a boot tray - ideal for walkers The general decor was in good condition as it had been refurbished only a couple of years ago. Parking was free in the car park across the road if you registered your vehicle with the hotel on arrival. Although the hotel is on the A5 road it was not noisy, but then our room was at the back. The manager kindly changed our room because the first one had a shower in bath arrangement and we had requested and had confirmed a walk in shower. The food was nice and all the staff were really pleasant and helpful. We would be happy to stay here again the future.

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world and I can honestly say that the staff were the best I have ever experienced. The room was lovely, clean and well decorated although needed more storage for clothes and bathroom toiletries. Some thought needs to go into the access to the disabled room as the paintwork is likely to be scratched by wheelchairs and walkers trying to get through the door to the two end rooms (particularly for clients without helpers) which would be a shame. The food was excellent for every meal with interesting and very tasty meals. Ample parking spaces and bus stops outside made for easy travelling.

Great and helpful staff, really good beers and food, air con in the bar area which was fantastic after a hot day hiking. Superb location for Moel Siabod. A few teething problems as we attended after a revamp, staff were very keen to help attend to these. Only improvement is the quality of the packed lunches, which were a little uninspiring for £12.50!

Good selection for breakfast, traditional country pub good variety of beer's limited wine selection, food was nice although limited as we stayed for 3 night A special thank you to Ella who was extremely helpful and professional. Room was clean and modern shower was really good. There is a lack of storage space and no where to hand clothing some hangers would be welcome. All stsff were pleasant and helpful. We will be booking a stay there again

Very welcoming and friendly,the staff were all lovely & immediately attentive for any queries,can't thank them enough. It makes such a difference when travelling on your own. The rooms are very nicely decorated with plenty of tea & a coffee machine,& fresh water provided. A bit warm but they gave me a fan. Beautifully clean,good shower & the toiletries provided smell lovely! Downstairs has an old-fashioned pub vibe with different areas for eating and is always busy,but the food is very good,and the (Madog) ale was very well-kept. Only downside is the busy A5 outside,but the windows are well-equipped to keep most of the noise out. Plenty of parking(free to guests). Breakfast is extra cost but good when it came.

Really lovely place to stay! Absolutely no complaints at all! Good menu in the bar and the food was well cooked. Breakfast was huge! 10/10

Lovely people who run the place, great bar and delicious Sunday roast. Ideal for a stay whilst moving between locations, spending the evening with a few drinks and good food.

Place is nice, quiet, and simple with updated room. good location to explore Eryri National Park. Quick drive to Mt Snowdon

Clean comfortable room Extremely friendly staff.Only stayed there one night enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast.Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

lovely hotel in a good location close to the main Betws Yr Coed where there is a good choice of restaurants, pubs and shops. only 7 mins drive from Pen Y Pass car park and approximately 12 mins to Snowdon railway

Room was sufficient, needed updating

The hotel is fairly basic, the rooms look a bit dated, there was a crack in my bath surround and some staining on the ceiling, but I believe the rooms are due for refurbishment shortly, so this is likely to improve. The parking is just over the road, and is free for as long as you're staying (you can come and go without registering again apparently). The hotel as a whole was clean and tidy. The food was good but a bit pricey in my opinion, but it is a touristy area, so base your expectations on that. The real stand-out was the staff, they are welcoming and clearly enjoy their jobs, and are a perfect example of Welsh hospitality. This is a good hotel as a base to explore Eryri

Our stay was amazing! Only 15 minute drive to Pen y Pass. The breakfast was great and the staff was really accommodating! Would definitely come here again!

We have just returned from a lovely overnight stay at Tyn y Coed to celebrate my boyfriends Birthday, couldn't fault a thing, staff couldn't do enough for us, room was clean, warm and comfortable, the food was outstanding,we ate our evening meal there and also breakfast which was delicious. Thanks for a lovely stay. X Helen and John x
