A nice place to stay that is conveniently situated for beach, fun fair, park and only a short drive or longer walk up to city centre & Metro station. Easy & free on site parking. Nice friendly staff. Have stayed at Sea Hotel several times over the years and in my opinion is very good value for money. Very good breakfast after a comfortable nights sleep in a spacious room. Praise to management & staff. See you next time

Poor had to complain

The room was clean, really quiet. The breakfast was good and the staff really friendly

We were supposed to be staying two nights from the 27th May but due to very poor cleanliness standards and a poorly maintained room (107) we left a day early. There was visible debris under the chest of drawers when I sat down on the sofa the room looked very shabby with chips and scars to woodwork. Obvious signs of water leaks to a wall and the ceiling that had been poorly covered. The bathroom had small bits of debris on the floor and the corner of the bath/shower had visible dirt/scum that wiped off on a stroke of a finger. The folding beds mattress was very badly stained and not fit to use. It was too late to find anywhere locally the first night. But a tearful wife wasn’t up for staying a second that’s for sure. I informed the manager we were checking out and our concerns but she was dealing with the second fire alarm incident of our stay and to email with pictures and they would respond straight away, a response we are still awaiting.

Brilliant hotel room was huge and the staff had kindly put up a double sofa bed for my daughter The breakfast was gorgeous loads of options to choose from on menu Location perfect a walk over road from beach and funfair and the beds were so comfy Will definitely be booking a stay here again :-)

The hotel has a great location. Opposite to the pleasure beach. The hotel was cleaned to a reasonable standard. However it looked tired and there was evidence of dust. There is no lift and no air con so if it gets warm they do provide fans. The bed was comfy and linen was to a high standard. The chiming of the church can be difficult to deal with especially in the early hours. It is very well price and certain value for money. I would certainly recommend.

I stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights in May. On the first night the fire alarm went off . Eventually guests left and were outside in the carpark. A roll call DID NOT take place . The following morning it sounds again just after 10 am . A false alarm. The wallpaper in my room 202 was coming away and also in the bathroom aswell. The string towel rail had yellow marks on it . The mattress was cheap . Too soft . I found the breakfast and bar menu to be very simply without saot of choice . The room needs redecorating tbh . The carpets throughout needed cleaning aswell . It was ok . Basic . But I would not stay again .

Breakfasts were excellent. Room was very warm as heating pipes in boxing’s were on. But helped get my damp clothes dry. Room was clean, extractor in toilet didn’t work.

The location is excellent but a lot of traffic noise. The hotel staff are very good and friendly. Food is mediocre. The worst part is simply the cleanliness of public areas. I’ve stayed there many times and despite pointing many things out (I didn’t even get an acknowledgement) lots of areas are filthy. A good example is the window ledge on the main staircase. It’s covered in dust, dead flies and cobwebs. What is disappointing is that all these areas could be cleaned in minutes with a vacuum and a damp cloth - as far as I’m aware it’s been like that for well over a year and it’s plainly visible when you walk up the stairs.

We started off having a drink in the sports bar..booked into our room which was small but very clean..booked a table for evening meal.the food was absolutely lovely.the staff was so friendly and easy to talk to..breakfast was really nice .. a very nice stay comfy bed ..will be booking back up

Whilst the accommodation is basic, it’s comfortable and well located by the sea front in Shields. A few minor irks could be easily improved upon ( luke warm tea for breakfast, instant coffee!!! , not even filtered, full breakfast is good, but a smaller portion of beans would do most people) . Otherwise it’s value for money

It could do with a bit more attention around the back of the bed and cupboard as it was a little bit dusty, but other than that the room was very clean. Bathroom was very clean. I couldn't work out how to turn on the tv, so i left it and watched YouTube on my phone. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Shelley, the bar staff was helpful also, she is a credit to your team. I would stay there again in the future.
