Great breakfast

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was a good size with an impressive windowed alcove. It was quiet and everything worked well, however the bed was a bit saggy. The full English breakfast was excellent.

Perfect for Shropshire Way hike

Our stay was a one night Bed and Evening meal. We were unable to stay for breakfast {included in the accommodation price) as we needed to be away even earlier then the rasonable start time of 8 a.m. The Evening Meal menu was slightly restricted in range, but none the worse for that! Staff were pleasant and heipful. The Stokesay Inn is a large old building. No doubts about the cleanliness. Although the decor is a bit 'tired', the large airy bar / restaurant area has a strange quirky attractiveness!

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room and ensuite were clean and contained everything required (tea, coffee, toiletries, towels). The lounge bar area was pleasant and had a friendly feel. The property is aging, but suitably priced.

Perfect for an overnight stop, excellent breakfast

The twin room i booked was clean and presentable and fitted our needs perfectly. Breakfast in the morning was good and there was a menu to choose from so you choose your own variation of breakfast. Staff were helpful, friendly and polite, overall, even though we only stayed one night, as we were attending a family wedding nearby, i would have no hesitation on staying here again.

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating of my requirements. I needed an earlier breakfast than advertised and without any hesitation Connor was able to help me.

Great staff made us feel welcome . Lovely food

My room was small and the TV difficult to manage. The bathroom was very good and spacious. Breakfast was good. I was happy that I was able to watch the Middlesbrough v Hull City match for entry into the Premiership. Happier still when my team, Hull City, won. I felt that the whole building needed lots of work doing to it but on the whole it was adequate.

Comfortable bed, very helpful host and a good solid English breakfast to start your day

If you want luxury go elsewhere BUT if you are happy with basic bed and board this was ok. It is above a pub so be mindful of that if you want early quiet nights. The room was clean and sufficient. The shower was good, but dated but it worked well. There is parking.

Clean room, a good heater and shower the breakfast was ok. My room was overlooking a housing estate but it was very quiet (Thursday) not sure what it would be like noise wise on a weekend though.

Don’t be fooled by the exterior, looks like the place could do with a little maintenance/upgrades. The room was excellent, clean, comfortable with a sparkling new bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Best part of the stay was the staff, warm, friendly and welcoming as though you are family. Don’t expect to rush your breakfast, one person does it all! Cleans , serves and cooks. She’s worth her weight in gold.

Limited cereals and no fruit or yoghurt, but lovely cooked traditional breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, location is really good near the visitor centre. Sunday lunch was very enjoyable, out in the beer garden. It is not the Ritz, obviously, but for the price I paid, totally fine. Excellent shower and great to find a single room available. Unfortunately the mattress was not good.

Staff were very welcoming, room was clean and well kept, with tea/coffee making facilities and toiletries. They catered for my needs as a vegetarian - the food served in the pub is excellent and the Guinness is well kept! The staff fitted breakfast requirements around my need to catch particular trains. Would definitely stay there again.

Nothing to complain about...room great..staff wonderful..breakfast a great start ti the day. Needs a heater in the shower room but Im a wuss so ok for most people. Would stay again sure...must get fosters on tap!!
