overall great experience

I had booked a luxury sea-facing room at Golden Retreat Hotel with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the standard of a “luxury” stay. The condition of the room was quite disappointing. The bed sheets had visible stains, and the pillowcases had dirty spots, which immediately gave an unhygienic impression. The towels provided were of very poor quality and did not meet even basic expectations. Additionally, there was no proper blanket or bedspread available, which is something one would definitely expect in a luxury category room. The bathroom maintenance was also below standard. The tap was leaking continuously, and water from the shower area was spilling over to the rest of the bathroom, making it inconvenient and messy to use. While the breakfast was good and the staff were polite and helpful, the core aspect of the stay—the room itself—was not maintained to luxury standards. This was quite disappointing, especially considering the premium pricing for a sea-facing luxury room. I would strongly suggest that the management focus on improving cleanliness, maintenance, and overall room quality to truly match the expectations of a luxury stay.

A really good hotel at a really good central location on the Marine Drive in Puri. Spacious and spotless room, high-end toiletries, extremely courteous staff, great balcony on the fourth floor to chill and a truly world-class restaurant. All at competitive prices. Do highly recommend and will only book at Golden Retreat for my next Puri visit.

Room condition good, cleaning staff are good. But desh staff lack efficiency. Food quality have to improve.

Close to all major attractions. The breakfast buffet was good, but had limited options and was a bit disorganized.

Hotel is close to the beach and the room was clean with tasty breakfast.

Great view of the beach the room. Very friendly and cooperative staffs. Situated very close to the beach and surrounded by good restaurants. Jagannath Temple is also just 10-15 mins walk. Only feedback is room needs to be a little bit more clean

Great room; great service, excellent location - very polite staff. Only drawback is that the "side view room" actually hardly provides any real sea view.

The ocean was not visible from our room. But there was a big balcony on our 4th floor where you could see the ocean from. Overall very nice and clean hotel. Centrally located. We could walk to the temple from here.

No car can approach this hotel entrance. You will have to park the car on main road, walk thro a narrow stinking and dirty lane to reach this. Room were ok.

Internet had issues and room was smelly
