We went away for a night from Sydney and had been to the anchorage previously however it was a long time ago so we were blown away by the changes to the property, the interior design in the bar was lovely and appropriate for the location and star level of the hotel.
A couple of observations that we could make would be that the bed was a queen and was with two mattresses, one mattress appeared to have lost some of its springs so needed replacing, the service in the bar was a bit slow and seemed to not be able to cope with the demands of happy hour and a long weekend.
In addition to the above we did the wellness room for two people. The infra-red sauna was not warm enough and the steam room appeared to have a problem with the thermostat as when you were seated it was not warm enough either. A cold plunge pool would be a welcome addition.
This is not faults with the hotel more just these tweaks would have made it an exceptional stay,
We are well travelled overseas so have seen quite a lot to compare with and in Italy some exceptional wellness retreats.

Our stay was amazing. Breakfast is a must have at the hotel. They have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Not so much in the dinner menu but the staff advised that they can prepare vegan food on request. Amenities provided were above par. Cleanliness level was good. Amazing views for the sunset. Pool was clean and well maintained.
Pro Tip:-
Some of the room types are available at ground and first floor. If you use third party sites to book your stay, it is a good idea to call them and say that you want a room at the first floor for better views. By default they assign a room at ground floor, so even if you have marine view room, it will be a restricted view. First floor rooms have balconies and better views.

The facilities are quite outdated, and there is a noticeable musty smell at the building entrance. Soundproofing is poor.
The breakfast options are very limited, and the food—especially the fruit—is not fresh. Many items were already unavailable by 8:30 a.m.
The staff are not friendly toward families with children. They attempted to charge an additional fee for a 6-year-old child without providing any extra services (such as a bed, toothbrush, or slippers).
I do not recommend this place for families with children.

Excellent location, staff are mostly friendly especially the room cleaning staff. We had a room on the 1st floor with partial sea view. It was roomy with a nice balcony in a very quiet location. love it! The breakfast and dinner were very nice too. The only downside was the mattress was a bit too soft but once we told the hotel, they offered to turn the mattress or change to another room. We'd definitely stay there again :-)

Best buffet breakfast we've experienced in a long while! Loved dining on the patio and enjoying the view and happy hour in the bar. Would definitely recommend but you will need a car because there isn't much within walking distance.
