Wonderful stay, as always. The air con was so nice during the heatwave. Staff are always really lovely and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

Rooms awful, moved room immediately due to issues and very bad maintenance. 2nd room not much better. Mattress had massive lumps in it. Bathroom fan didn’t work - until 4am when it started very loud and then never stopped. Our stay was due to a family gathering, 70th birthday. We came back to the hotel at 11.15pm and refused a drink, no option as residents to have a late bar, never heard of that anywhere before. Everywhere was “sticky”, the carpets filthy, loads of stains everywhere, and hadn’t been hovered for a considerable time. Breakfast was OK, not fab, just Ok, not masses of choice Would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances

Good sized room and bed. Very hot and stuffy on entry. Tried the air con control panel but it was switched off. (In a heatwave in june?) Turned on unit at the mains and room cooled until early hours of the morning when I heard water splashing on the carpet from the ac unit.- Noticeable amount of water pouring from unit-So turned it off again. Also found bathroom door wouldn't shut. Personally I prefer to use the bathroom in private and not have the door swing open to full view of the bed. Reported to reception on checkout and fact that I thought being turned off at mains likely indicated a known fault. Brief apology and then asked if everything else ok. Hotel was clean and quiet but I wouldn't look to stay here again if they are happy to book people into rooms with what I suspect are known faults. Good location for town centre if you really have to be in Bedford.

Central Location with friendly helpful staff.

Although the property has been superficially updated, the core fabric is still the hotel I knew nearly 20 years ago. The windows with secondary double gazing left 2 options - to open the small window and sffer the rattling noise from the metal frames or close the window and slowly cook. A poor night’s sleep spoiled my stay in Bedford.

We had booked a weekend stay but didn’t check in until about 11pm on the first night. Got to our room which was quite spacious but as soon as we opened the bathroom door, the smell of mould was extremely overwhelming. There was a window that couldn’t be opened and mould spores all over the ceiling and around the shower. Turning the tap on only made the smell worse and the only way to keep the smell contained was to keep the door closed. We had requested another room the next day but this wasn’t accommodated due to the hotel being fully booked, but someone was sent to the room to do a temporary ‘freshen up’ which didn’t last long before the smell of mould reappeared. We finally managed to get a new room the next day which was alot smaller but the bathroom was fine, although as soon as you step out of the lift on the 7th floor, again there was an overwhelming smell of mould. Overall, the lobby to the hotel is gorgeous but the rooms, corridors and carpets need some serious TLC. Wouldn’t stay here again until the current issues are addressed.

Clean room. There was a small stain on the sheet which looked lo makeup but we got that changed. Great staff with quick room service

Friendly staff, clean rooms, shower wasn’t great hardly any power to it. Lovely location right on the river and across the road from the town centre, would definitely book again. Bar area was bright and airy with big windows looking over the river

Ideal location I enjoyed my stay

There is almost never anyone at reception so you have to wait five or 10 minutes. I booked a privilege room that supposed to have free bottles of water in the fridge. There were none, I called reception and asked for some to be brought to me, nothing happened. On my way out two hours later, I spoke to a different person at reception who was quite polite and told me she will ask house keeping again. I was very surprised that in the 24 hours I was in the hotel, I didn’t have any water whatsoever. Terrible in my view. The air conditioning in my room didn’t work in the hottest weekend of the year. All in all, very disappointed.

AVOID, the reason is that I stayed here for a few weeks a year ago and unfortunately changed rooms 6 times due to air conditioning (one worked one didn't, one didn't switch off at all) issues, parties through the night, traffic, then finally bathroom fan that just stayed on 24/7 very noisy. Finally got a good room but opposite the lift. Tried again recently but unfortunately the room had a window screwed permenantly open so went to 6 degrees at night in a cold snap, the heating had been intentionally disabled as I have a photo of the mains switch on. Main light not working room very dark. When I mentioned it to management they said switch was on which my current room in same position but Was working so in effect saying I lied. Sadly no reply after a full week after providing this evidence and chasing and them refusing to refund this one night. I never asked for previous refund first one as I got really ill due to the cold in the night. Even though there were very loud banging, and building works type noises throughout the week. Very disappointed, even the cleaning mid week she only changed the bed no towel no refills, no clean nothing. Photos attached. Emailed both front desk, spoke to them and the manager no refund, help or compensation. Avoid.

Building is tired but it’s reflected in the price.

This is like faulty towers where the maintenance man is the bar man etc etc found it v odd to have nowhere to hang clothes not even hooks on back of doors yet you get a luggage holder in a room that barely has room for a chair. Quite amusing really. Aircon doesn’t work and windows rattle in the wind when left open. Nice bed and shower but …

It was an alright hotel

Surprisingly good stay here. It's an ugly building but really comfortable inside!

The property was fine, staff could’ve been a bit more friendly, room was a bit smelly throughout. Mould everywhere in the bathroom.

Room was filthy, bathroom had crumbs all over and moldy bath and shower head. Breakfast was okay but only 1 person working so food was empty most of the time.
