Can't fault the standard of the room. Check in efficient. Later check out time than many others.

The room was very nice great view very comfortable bed one of the biggest bathrooms i have had in a hotel room reception staff were very helpful

The room was nice, clean and quite spacious. The stuff was lovely, especially at the breakfast area.

We booked to use the gym then found out it was not open as it was being refurbished. The air con/heating was so noisy it kept us throughout the night. However, it was warm and the room was smart with a nice hot shower. The location is great but no nice view from our particular roo .

Our stay at the Mercure Bedford Hotel was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. The hotel is not at all as shown in the pictures online. What we experienced on site was completely different and a major visual disappointment. In our opinion, this hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating. Upon arrival, we were given a room where the toilet did not flush and the water would not drain. The carpet was very dirty, and the bed duvet was visibly stained. We had to change rooms three times before finally being given a room where at least the toilet was working, which caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. The hygiene and maintenance standards were far below expectations. I have formally complained via email to the hotel management and requested a refund, however to date I have received no response. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.

The room was tiny, smallest I have stayed in Charged extra for parking and for my dog (£15) This cost was not mentioned when booking and did effect my decision when booking Hotel was dated Checking in was extremely slow Staff were disengaged Christmas party was poor Dj missing Main course was missing Location was good and central

Vomit hallway in way to room, key card wasnt working properly, very outdated and loud cooling system in room, very noisy guests outside hotel

The shower wasn't clean, breakfast was terrible, the bar was out of drinks. The staff were friendly.

Attentive staff at breakfast. Clean room with recently updated bathroom. Very central location.

Room was v clean ,comfy bed, spacious but rather dark at night with no central light , room heater in room 405 very noisy could not leave on when trying to sleep. Breakfast was very hit and miss,not all items available at the same time we had to go back several times to get a full fried breakfast,ran out of white bread at 09.45 with 1.15 hours to go until breakfast was over. All in all good value for money apart from the breakfast debacle.

Lovely, spacious room with a great view of the river. Unfortunately the room was ridiculously warm, even with air con on as low as it would go. Mould in the shower, and the carpet didnt seem to hsvr been vacuumed properly.

Not good service by Receptionist on arrival. She seemed pleasant enough but was ‘snarky’ and smug. Room cold and heating controlled by hotel. Lift not level on occasion and our concern dismissed. Another receptionist refused to freeze our cooler pack ice block saying not allowed whereas waiter said it was fine. Very limited menu. Fab view from our room and we would only return because of that.

Rooms and public areas in good condition . Hotel in good location for Bedford. Only comment is that the outside of the building and steps in don’t make the place look appealing .
