Great comfortable room with ultra modern bathroom. EXTREMELY friendly and helpful staff. The location is absolutely ideal—close to EVERYTHING. My only complaint is that the elevator is old and slow and makes creaky noises, and there are some rooms that require a walk up a flight of stairs from one floor to the next due to all elevators not working, but if I were going back I would definitely stay in Thai hotel again above all others. This is my third trip to the city.

Very helpful staff, large comfortable quiet room in a very good location.
Breakfast was not good and we stopped eating there after the first morning they need to step up the quality.
Hotel is a lovely classic property they do need some new carpeting but it's a clean building. Again the staff and location are excellent. Rooms are very comfortable.

The location is excellent: very central and across from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station. Our room was grand in size yet so was the room rate. Common areas such as carpeting were worn and dirty. Ivor, the concierge, is a classy and knowledgeable Scottish gent.

An historic building, convenient to everything on the Royal Mile. Also its lower level entry is super convenient to arrival from the train station, literally across an uncrowded Market Street. Wonderful rooms with sunlight, tastefully appointed. The timely limited access will soon be fixed by a second elevator being installed in the hotel. The staff was always helpful (though the laundry lost two of my dress shirts). I enjoyed my stay immensely.

The Scotsman was everything we hoped it would be—clean, quiet, comfortable, and close to “the action” along the Royal Mile. And the breakfast was wonderful, complete with a professional cappuccino machine!

My daughter and I spent 2 nights at the Scotsman. It is a lovely hotel very close to the Royal Mile and just over the bridge from the train station. A great location. The hotel is beautiful and iconic. The carpets in the hallway seemed a bit worn, but our room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful, and the hotel had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.
