Fairmont Banff Springs

The room is insanely small. It is absolutely overated. Also the floor was designed with zero consideration of their customer. It has stairs in each floor. I have to carry my two huge suitcases upstairs. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL. trash as fk.

Before staying here, I stayed at the Fairmont Gold at Lake Louise; there is a huge difference between a Gold room and a standard one—they really ought to balance things out better. The room was very dusty; we dropped a ring under a piece of furniture, and when we shone a light to look for it, we saw a lot of dirt. They don't leave anything in the room—not even items available for purchase—so we would have had to go to a store to buy things. The shower also lacked water pressure, and the air conditioning was noisy.

Pros: location is great. Property is well maintained. I did the gold package and the lounge was great in terms of breakfast and hors-d'œuvre (it is substantial enough to be dinner), Spa was great. Staffs were courteous and professional Cons: It is an old property. Our bathroom was adequate, but really tiny. No space to put things away. I reserved a view room, but our view was not in direct view. Spa is nice, but you have to pay extra ($130 Canadian) to use. Overall: No regrets. Spent close to US $6k for three nights, but felt it was worth it. We will probably go back to play golf and use Spa next time.

I looked forward to staying at Fairmont Banff for years now. When I finally stayed there, I don't think I will ever come back again. Paid the gold room for the benefit of the club access. First of all, the room is very small and does not feel high end and club offers much less than other club access we have experienced like four seasons and St Regis etc. I signed up for the membership for Fairmont finally. The welcome drink was 1 even we had 2 people. When we left with our rental car, we asked for some water to take with, we were told they don't keep water at Gold Member entrance/exit. For how much you paid per night, it is definitely not worth it.

The hotel and grounds are maintained beautifully. We enjoyed the beautiful patio lined with gorgeous flowers at the back of the hotel and the heated pool. The Italian restaurant Castillo is great as well. Our dinner was amazing. The old grandeur of the interior design is quite impressive. We loved our stay there.

Our room wasn't ready despite arriving 2 hours after check-in (after 14hrs travel and with quick turn dinner reservations); they offered to let us use the gym to get ready!?? I was pretty shocked for the price (and for our honeymoon). The bathroom is tiny, like a 5'5 / 125lb woman knocking elbows between the sink and shower door. The room had a tiny window, so was pretty dark. The spa is lovely, the views are stupendous. If you're a golfer, the course is gorgeous - then again, what's not gorgeous in Banff! We conveniently rented bikes on premise, though one was janky and we had to circle back to swap it out. We had a hiking guide one day (the company can only be booked as a guest), and he was so fun. The breakfast shop up front was delicious. It's a bit out of town so you have to take a bus (runs inconsistently every ~20 minutes) as there's no uber, taxis take just about as long, and there's limited parking in town.

All the staff were so helpful Service was wonderful. The pool area was beautiful but too crowded to enjoy it.

Enjoyed our spacious room and the service is always on point. Of note, the Rundle Bar could use more service staff for table service during the evenings, but overall quality of cocktails is outstanding (Marek was excellent).

The hotel and service is outstanding! The dinner at Vermillion was phenomenal. Daniel was a terrific server and made us feel so welcome. It was the best meal we had all week in Banff and Jasper. It made for a great way to end a 50th birthday trip.

The staff throughout the hotel were exceptional. Friendly, informed and helpful. In fact, when asking for assistance to find an area of the hotel or a particular place, staff guided us themselves to the location. Very kind. The bar staff was equally professional. Treated us as if we were their “favorite table” in a fully-packed space. We enjoyed our stay greatly.

Everything was excellent. Attention to detail in all areas was exquisite.

The history of the hotel is very interesting and the hotel is very clean, has been beautifully maintained and updated for modern conveniences. Staff was friendly and professional.
