The room itself is fine, but I encountered issues with the water temperature fluctuating in the shower. It's very difficult to control, especially during the winter season. Additionally, the location of the hotel is not very convenient for traveling in Bath, even if you have a car. (The center of Bath is always prone to traffic jams.) Overall, I believe the value of this selection is not good.

The level of cleanliness was unfortunately really poor. The toilets (in room and in the communal areas) had not been cleaned properly, there was mould in the bathroom and hair on the bedroom floor. The ‘spa facilities’ are also not well maintained. Disappointing for what the hotel is marketing.

The bathroom had no heating. The bed creaked. There were very points so charging phones etc was a challenge. Also no room service because it was new year's eve!

The hotel was really really cold and the service was really slow

Got to reception at 3:15pm was told can’t check in until 3:30pm. Sat down and at 3:25pm there was a touch of queueing people who had obviously all been told the same thing. Waited 20mins in the queue to finally check in. We booked this hotel for the spa experience. The outdoor heated pool and one of the sauna were both out of order. All the other facilities in the spa were extremely busy because everyone checked in at the same time. Spent 20mons in the spa before giving up.

Fantastic location with high-quality facilities. The room was spacious, comfortable.A very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

First time staying at this hotel after 10years and it’s a huge decline from back then. No longer a 5star hotel more a 3.5/4star. The front desk staff (Rory L’estrange) was terrible - lacking any customer service skills or warmth. Breakfast was slow and limited options, quality again a huge decline.

Good sized room, excellent facilities, good food and fine wine.

An amazing hotel from start to finish. The staff cant be more friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and fresh looking with robes and slippers provided. A bottle of water is also provided on arrival alongside biscuits, teas and coffees. Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Bath main town is a short walk away (15 / 20 mins) but be aware that there is a steep hill returning back to the hotel if walking that might be a challege for those less mobile. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Expected more from a 5* hotel. Sofa bed wasn't made so we had to ring reception for spare pillows and duvet. It was quickly sorted but we felt like our son wasn't accounted for. The spare bed was very uncomfortable and you could feel every spring underneath. Aircon wasn't working so we weren't able to adjust the temperature, our bedroom was freezing in the morning!

The beautiful scent in reception - I wish I could buy it for my home! Gorgeous room, comfortable bed and pillows, spa was a delight. Vellore restaurant was lovely.

Heating issues with room , that was tectified when issue raised. Very cold indoor pool due to old fashioned valve heating system that was problematic. Out door pool lovely but very small and overcrowded due to cold indoor pool. Not enough creamers, 4only and place needs a facelift, not teally 5 star

Such a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location for visiting Bath. A hotel of that size and age is bound to have areas that look tired, but best not to dwell on them and enjoy an amazing building, attractive gardens and a spa with a good choice of saunas, an outdoor jacuzzi and a nice pool. We had a very tasty cream tea which was located in the restaurant due to a wedding, so a bit soulless as a venue and quite expensive - but scones were excellent! Bedroom was in the old part of the hotel with some lovely period features. Bathroom needs a refresh but the Elemis soaps were gorgeous.

The Goods - Lovely Grounds, pleasant walk into Bath , comfortable beds , clean rooms & friendly Spa Reception Team , friendly Housekeeping. The Bads - Our Room was like a Sauna , aircon not working , had to have the window open all the time, tired Bathroom, FOH reception Team need some further Empowerment .. All things considered- a pleasant stay but some improvements needed..

Check in staff were confused about breakfast times, we were told hydrotherapy pool was out of use which was disappointing but then we found it open. Had problem with room safe which was not resolved. But most staff were charming and very helpful.
