Our room was comfortable but badly need refurbishing very worn out. The property as a whole needs a lot of work very old and unkept. The restaurant food was very average. The staff were excellent

Beautiful and convenient

Luksushotell med privat havtilgang og svømmebasseng. Vi kom i midten av juni, sammen med britiske pensjonister og valgte dette stedet for å unngå ungdom og festkultur. Det viste seg å være midt i blinken. Har du sett TV-serien Acapulco? Dette minner litt om hotellet Las Colinas i den serien, det er som en litt slitt 1980-tallsperle, da chartertur var på sitt største. God, men dyr frokost, men svært godt organisert. Vi sendte inn en forespørsel om to enkeltdyner framfor en dobbel og fikk i tillegg et stille og godt rom. Veldig fornøyd.

Underbar pool och härligt att bada i havet. Det märks att hotellet är lite äldre med små saker som kunde underhållits bättre. Jättebra läge. Restaurangerna på hotellet var ok. Väldigt bra frukost.

The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive and the room was cleaned beautifully every day. It was well air conditioned throughout. The decor of the hotel however needs an upgrade. it’s outdated and the chairs in the lobby need to be reupholstered. Overalll hotel cleanliness was good, with the exception of the pool area which let the side down. Tables, sunbeds and the patio were visibly dirty and were not cleaned during the week duration we stayed. We also had a problem with a blocked toilet in our room. Food was ok to average.

For a five star hotel it was disappointing. First the positives… the pool, and pool area was wonderful and spacious. The buffet breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. That’s where it ends. The check-in was terrible. The clerk didn’t even smile or offer us a welcome drink as other guests were given. Despite it being a VIP Expedia hotel we were not offered an upgrade. We asked for an early check in and we were denied. We asked for a late check out and again, they said no. And we were never offered an upgrade. The room was very dated. Old carpet, old ugly bedspreads, dirty tile in the bathroom, and in desperate need of paint and repair around the property. We expected much more after paying over $300 Euro/ night. My advice is to look at other properties. I would guess many four star properties would be nicer

I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. The Grand Hotel Excelsior offers everything you would expect from a five-star resort: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a well-equipped fitness center, multiple restaurants and bars, and excellent amenities. The hotel is also spotless, very well maintained, and the staff is genuinely attentive and welcoming. That said, the property feels frozen in the early 2010s and is due for a major renovation. The exterior showed significant peeling paint in several areas, some of the furniture was noticeably worn, and there were no power outlets near the beds, making it inconvenient to charge phones and other devices overnight. The lack of USB charging ports—other than on the television—was also disappointing for a hotel of this category. Despite these shortcomings, the atmosphere and service made for a pleasant stay. I especially enjoyed the souvenir shop and appreciated that the hotel has a renowned pastry chef, which was reflected in the quality of the desserts. With some modernization, this hotel could once again fully live up to its five-star rating.

Brilliant stay. Friendly and welcoming staff at all levels ready to assist and help. Enjoyed stay very much. Used hotel to arrange private transfer to and from hotel. Arrived on time and cost was on par with normal taxi cost. Breakfast selection wide and varied. Beautiful pool and private beach.

Very good breakfast, spacious deluxe room with good facilities and a balcony, many with a sea view. Spacious restaurants with good range of food and excellent serving staff. Pool facilities very good. Staff very helpful. Good location on coast and not too far from town centre. Would have liked wider range of items on bar menu and restaurant menu near the pool in the evening. Very good at arranging taxis from hotel but pick-up’s were less reliable.

Experiência incrível nesse Hotel Maravilhoso a poucos metros da entrada de Valletta. Eu e minha Família estivemos hospedados, e fomos atendidos por um staff de pessoas educadas sempre prontos a atender às nossas solicitações.

Vor allem die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch, unser grosses Zimmer mit grosser Terasse mit Blick über die Bucht hinüber zu den "Three Cities " war der Aufenthalt sehr wertvoll. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen, auch im und am riesigen Swimmingpool war sehr schön. Mit kurzen Bus Shuttle kurzer Weg in die City of Valletta. Personal sehr gut, vor allem Room Service und Cleaning. Frühstück Restaurant ok, aber sehr laut mit vielen Touristen. Das Essenangebot nur mittelmäßig. Kaffee Qualität nicht sehr gut, extra Bestellung von Cappuccino oder Espresso kostet extra. Positive: wenn man danach fragt bekommt man frischen Orangensaft. Alles Andere an "Saft" ist gefärbten Wasser mit Zucker. Aber alles in Allem Hotel 4 von 5 Sternen

The hotel have seen its glory days. But good location close to Valetta.
