This is a grand lady of a hotel. A little bit tired in places but it has a good feeling to it. It reminds me of a cruise liner.
The Reception staff are efficient but lack warmth, and the food and beverage staff are mostly chaotic, but if you brace yourself for it and allow for extra time and mistakes, you get there in the end - some more experienced staff at breakfast save the day. The whole food offering could do with an overhaul - it’s neither exciting nor extensive.
However, for all that, the hotel has a charm about it, a location, a setting and poolside that is fabulous, so it makes it my hotel of choice in Valletta.

Very nice place to stay, huge hotel, just 10 min walk to central Valletta, great view out over the marina, large and comfortable rooms, several restaurants, great indoor and outdoor pools and gym/spa, 24 hour bar. While I don’t think it merits 5 stars as it shows a few signs of faded glory, I would recommend it to anyone, especially in low season when rates are very reasonable and fair

Adjacent to the walled city with free garage though we walked to everything in the old city. Large, comfortable room with terrace overlooking the ancient city walls. Big bath w/separate tub. Great hotel services available.

This hotel is definitely a great choice. Breakfast buffet is fantastic, including a variety of dishes, fresh, tasty and good quality. Staff at front desk were very friendly and helpful. The amenities and the views are awesome. The room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. Also, it is about 5 minutes walk to Valletta and many interesting attractions. Definitely recommend.
