Beautiful hotel, very centrally located and right next to the ocean. Our room was nice and spacious and clean. Staff and management were very nice and helpful all around. Eg 1: I had hurt my ankle the previous day, and over our 2 day stay, they assisted my wife in getting ice for my leg. Eg 2: We also needed a screwdriver to remove the battery from a toy we bought (for plane travel), and the staff went out of their way to help out with it (laughing at us). The breakfast and dinner buffet had great food, and the performer at the dinner buffet also played our song requests! Great place overall, would definitely recommend.

Galle Face Hotel很好地保留了英国殖民时期的风韵，略显历史的“陈旧”感。 床很舒服，但美中不足的是沙发，沙发显然有些廉价，居然能看到座垫下的板条，哪怕是一张折叠沙发床也不应该。不过，这并不影响使用。 早餐没有评论中写的那样丰富，或许是因为之前入住的度假村要比Galle Face Hotel更高档的缘故。 泳池不大，但是躺在泳池边听着海浪看夕阳一定很不错。 全天在二楼LONG ROOM提供免费的茶点，很贴心。正好打发下午退房到去机场的几个小时时间。 二楼另一侧有展厅，有很多历史名人，尤其是英国上流社会的名人和各时期的首相，都曾下榻该酒店，给酒店做了很好的背书。展厅还展出了爱丁堡公爵，英国女王的丈夫，年轻时买的第一辆轿车。

Stay here if you cherish Traditions! Colonialism at its best. Staff is very proud of this regal establishment. Old world elegance and charm!

We had a wonderful stay! This hotel is beautiful, classy and iconic . We will plan to stay here again before our Sri Lankan vacation is over . Highly recommended!

Das Hotel ist so ein Juwel! Vor ca. 150Jahren von den Niederländern erbaut und sehr gut renoviert, hat es bis heute seinen großen Charme der Vergangenheit erhalten Das gesamte Personal, angefangen von den Managern, Receptionisten und der Service Crew ist von einer Freundlichkeit, wie ich sie kaum in großen Hotels erlebt habe! Hervorheben möchte ich besonders Manager Mr. Nihal, Gästebetreuung Dinushi, Ivoni, Jithara und Melissa, so wie die gesamte Frühstückscrew! Jeden Morgen wurde ich vom freundlichen Team mit einem Lächeln empfangen und ich fühlte mich willkommen! Bei zwei/ drei persönlichen Schwierigkeiten halfen sie mir in einer Weise, die man von einem Hotelpersonal nicht erwartet! Ich kann kaum beschreiben, wie wohl ich mich während meines 7tägigen Aufenthalts fühlte! Das Frühstück bietet ein überdurchschnittliche Auswahl an Optionen an, und das Mittagsbuffet ist ausgezeichnet! MeinZimmer war schön groß und ich konnte ausgezeichnet schlafen! Ich danke der gesamten Hotelcrew für alle Hilfe, die sie mir geboten haben und für ihre immerwährende Freundlichkeit!! Ich werde wiederkommen!

Delicious breakfast, location, views, and history incomparable , it really transports you back to the old times

A nice old classic, charming, grand hotel by the see. Good sized pleasant room - we were upgraded to a suite on the water. Room in good condition. Included breakfast very good. Staff try hard to please.

I was disappointed with the poor service at the buffet. It’s not about the food. The service staff were not welcoming at all. I paid for half board. The first night of the buffet, we had two cokes besides our normal food. While we were about to leave, the head waiter very loudly that all can hear, called us and said we need to pay for the cokes we consumed. I try to apologize to him. But, he turned away from us. That is vey insulting. For 1200/- you would embarrass us like that in front of all of the guest and staff. From that time forward we did not go to the already buffet at all. I had very high hopes for this hotel, since this is one of the oldest and renowned hotel in Colombo. But, the service staff need more coaching in customer engagement and it needs to start from top down. You lost two customers.

The location and historic charm are amazing! Having breakfast or dinner whilst right beside the ocean is a rare opportunity in the middle of a Capital city. The rooms are a little dated and hotel could do with a birthday.

We stayed there for Eight days. It was great experience with old world charm and modern amenities. Rooms were very clean; Staff was very friendly and polite. Specially the "Verandah" staff was very attentive, and Breakfast and dinner was great with ever changing menus. It is unfair to mention few names as a complement because it is injustice done for others who served us with great care and friendliness. As a whole our stay was memorable. We will definitely stay at Galle Face Hotel on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

Super schönes Hotel und bester Lage mit herrlichem Pool mit Blick auf das Meer sehr freundliches und zuvorkommend des Personal das Abendessen Buffet und auch das Frühstück Buffet schwierig zu übertreffen. Alles da und sehr guter Qualität hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir kommen wieder.
