I had a very good and peaceful stay experience in Lugano with a lake-view balcony suite. The huge room with a spectacular view was nicely set up, and the gymnasium facilities were perfect. However, the kitchen was not for cooking; only the kettle worked. In addition, the staff was kind and helpful.

Family trip, a group of 5, good location, very nice facilities, best view, good service by the friendly staff, will definitely go back to stay when I go to Lugano again!

I booked this with a special weekend offer. The quality of this hotel is much much more than expected. Spacious room. View overlooking Lugano. Comfortable bedding. Tasty food in restaurant with stunning view. Delicious and various choices of food for breakfast.

The views of Lake Lugano from this property are amazing.

die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, die Matratzen waren hart, für uns perfekt. Das Personal freundlich und professioell. Massage war gut, der Wellness Fitnessbereich angenehm geräuming. Es waren genügend Liegen vorhanden und man konnte den Swimmingpool sehr gut nutzen.

Très bon hôtel, literie excellente, petit déjeuner très varié et bon, personnel attentionné et excellent emplacement de l'hôtel

Vi blev opgraderet gratis til den store suite, som var helt fantastisk med masser af plads og to altaner, begge med flotte udsigter. Stort fitness center med mange forskellige maskiner og en dejlig wellness-afdeling med udendørs (kun om sommeren) og indendørs pool, spa, sauna, dampbad, koldtvandsbassin og fodbad. God morgenmadsbuffet. Lidt dyr parkering (CHF 20 pr nat), og køkkenudstyr koster ekstra, hvis man vil bruge køkkenet. Vi havde dog taget vores eget med, og det blev ikke kommenteret. Der er ca. 2 km at gå ned til centrum (via en masse trapper og en trafikeret vej, men der kører også en bus lige udenfor døren, som kan anvendes gratis med Ticino ticket, som kan fås gratis i receptionen på forespørgsel.

We found the suite to be spacious and very clean, with a breathtaking view. However, there were a few things we didn’t like as much: the extra bed was quite basic and uncomfortable for our child. The bedside lamps in the bedroom looked rather worn out, which didn’t really match the overall style of the hotel. Also, the kitchen had no equipment at all — it would have been nice to have at least some plates and cutlery. Especially when traveling with children, it’s practical to have a few essentials available for a quick snack in between meals.

The view from Villa Sassa is stunning, and the property itself has great potential, but my stay was unfortunately disappointing. My pre-booked shuttle arrived nearly an hour late with no update or communication from staff. I completely understand that road closures can cause delays, but a simple message would have allowed me to make other arrangements and avoid unnecessary stress in a new city. When I arrived, my early check-in request wasn’t accommodated, which I can accept, but the way it was handled was very dismissive. When I tried to express my concerns to the front desk, the staff member simply said “thank you, have a good day” and hung up. I later provided written feedback to management but received no further response, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. It also took over 40 minutes for my luggage to be delivered to my room, adding to an already frustrating experience. As a VIP guest, I expected better communication, service, and attention to detail. While the hotel itself is peaceful and offers incredible views, it’s not as convenient as it seems. The property is uphill, and there aren’t any nearby restaurants or shops you’ll need to take a bus, taxi, or Uber to reach the main area. Overall, the setting is lovely, but the lack of communication, poor responsiveness, and dismissive service left a very negative impression. With better training and guest care, Villa Sassa could truly live up to its potential.

Modest lodging experience. Over promised and underdelivered on service and accommodations. Pics were misleading, mainly appearing to be on the waterfront. I should have examined further. Courtesy transportation delivered a great customer experience.

Unfortunately, we were stuck in the elevator for about 30 minutes, and the help button didn’t work. We had to call the hotel directly for assistance.

The view from this hotel was amazing. The breakfast was excellent. However the room needs significant improvement. We had the premium suite lake view and it was missing furniture and mold was growing on the balcony. The kitchen was a nice touch but it was totally empty. No dishes or cutlery Thankfully, we didn’t spend much time in the room.

Our stay at Villa Sassa was good. The room was large, but seemed empty. Full kitchen but nothing to cook with or eat on. Friendliness of staff was hit and miss - the front desk Staff was great. Found it very odd that they shut down the pool to guests for “aqua fit” classes for two people - spa staff chased us down to let us know we couldn’t use the pool until those people were done their work out. Hot tub was more of a warm tub - needed to be much hotter. Sauna facilities were great.

Die Suite war gross, der Balkon auch, wirkte aber etwas ungepflegt.Leider war das Fenster im Glaserker defekt, das sollte sich jemand ansehen. Wellness haben wir nicht benutzt, die Zeit war zu knapp.Wir haben so viel Zeit gebraucht um uns in den langen Gängen zurechtzufinden, dass wir es gelassen haben. Das Essen war hervorragend, die Aussicht abends mit den Lichtern von Lugano wunderschön.

Der er butikker ca. 1 km fra hotellet. Bus lige overfor, og nemt at komme rundt

The check in was quick as we were given our key right away. It turned out that the agent neglected to give us sone key information such as free local transit pass es for hotel guests and wifi password. There’s no information in the room at all. We walked back to the reception area for WiFi password and we found out about the free transit passes the NEXT day from the train station agent after we paid our bus fares the first day!
