DoubleTree by Hilton Kamloops

Very nice!!

The place was well situated in the area and even though the parking lot was small, we did find parking in the garage. The bed was soft and comfortable if you like low to the ground mattresses that have a ton of give. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Parking was not great, there is very little onsite parking and it is very poorly laid out as the spots are too small and the parking garage has very few stalls. Also they charge for parking, which is not entirely unheard of but for the parking situation to be so dismal it’s an overreach. Other than parking the stay was great, I do like to stay at Double Tree when it’s available in the city I’m in.

Lobby looks so dirty, debris all over, I don't think the front desk really cares about it. Room AC was warm and loud. Dosen't cool. Parking only free for gold members and other members don't.

Only disappointment is the parking, Being charged $15 a night should be included in your stay.

Short but a very good stay

The hotel looks nice from the outside and the lobby. My wife is handicapped so we are very careful where we stay. We found 1 available handicap spot and went in to check in. We were greeted with a very accommodating lady at the front desk. She told us there is a $14 parking fee on top of the cost of the room. This is a first for both my wife and I. We have stayed at probably over a thousand hotels. I am not okay with this. Maybe, I overlooked the information of the hotel when I booked it, maybe not. Not cool. The cost always includes the parking. Even the city of Kamloops has free parking spots for handicapped persons! We went to our room. The rooms are average. There was a partly chewed dogs dentastick beside the one bed. I went into the bathroom next to shower. I immediately realized the shower is set up for short people. If you are remotely close to 6 feet, good luck rinsing off. This is where a handheld showerhead would have helped or a moveable one at the very minimum. I grabbed a kleenex to blow my nose and realized the box was empty after I pulled two of them. I went down to the front desk to get another box. The lady at the front desk brought one up later in the evening. The sleep was decent until someone's dog started barking a couple rooms down. The restaurant should modernize their menu and include gluten-free options for those us with Celiac Disease. Overall our stay was average. Nothing more, nothing less. I have stayed in many better hotels for less money.

Room had a loud noise when the AC kicked in that was disruptive to our sleep. And a weird knocking noise in the wall during the day. Otherwise it was fine.

Good location.

For what we paid for, I would expect free breakfast. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

Staff and property is good.. No option to reserve daily breakfast ahead in time..this helps with billing for business travellers..

​We stayed at the Hilton Treetop Hotel for a single night and left with mixed feelings. ​On the positive side, the check-in process went smoothly and without any issues. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired, featuring a very odd and awkward layout. ​The real issue, though, was breakfast. We are typically very easy-going people who don’t like to make a stink, but our time is valuable. It took over an hour and a half to get breakfast for our family of four, which is completely unreasonable. They had a single, brand-new server working the tables who clearly hadn't been trained yet and didn't know her job. Because of this, the service was awful, and the food itself was highly subpar. ​To make matters worse, when we requested to speak to a manager about the situation, there was no manager available on duty. It is incredibly unfair to leave a brand-new employee completely on her own without leadership support, and it ruined what should have been a quick morning meal for our family. We won't be rushing back.

This property was a perfect over night stop over. It was clean, staff was great, bed was comfy, and the view of the mountains was amazing. Highly recommend.

Upgrade your coffee as it was not pleasant both in the room and downstairs. Everything els was amazing great stay and would stay again to enjoy the hot tub and pool!!
