The from of the building is very nice but the back down the very narrow entrance looks like an old nursing home or a once before block of flats. The lift needs updating. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was between 08:00 -10:00 yet the fried eggs looked like they had been out for hours.

Booked two rooms for ourselves and relatives for a three night stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hall is an old building with lots of character and has those little corridors running off in many directions which I find intriguing. Our room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean with a good size shower and quite modern. The windows in the building are the old style metal frame single glazing so we're difficult to open and you can hear outside noise so if you're a light sleeper I suggest asking for a quiet room at the rear of the property. The bed was very comfy but the pillows are a bit too hard for me. The breakfast was in one of the big old rooms which makes it feel quite grand. Nice small selection of hot and cold for breakfast. There is a modern bar area that is also a dining room in the evening and there is a small sports bar off one of the many little corridors. The hotel is just on the main road and the car park it at the rear which is accessed through a quite narrow tunnel so if you have an unusual large car you'll have to pay to park on the public car park at the front. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby to enjoy and it's is a very short walk into the town center. The train station is only 15 minutes walk too so great location.

The staff were friendly and professional looking to make our stay comfortable. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast which was a great way to start the day. It’s a great place to stay and it had a car park for our hire car.

Very conveniently located

Hotel has benefited hugely from some serious investment . Used the hotel for over 30 and it’s never been better . Slight moan about the gardens which looked like they needed some maintenance. Overall tho , very pleased .

The room was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't have an evening meal as the reviews we read put us off a little but did have breakfast which was adequate although no buffet breakfast was available. The property itself l felt could do with a little TLC here and there ie paintwork seemed a little tired in places. It was very hot in the room although a fan had been provided. We only stayed for one night to break up a longer journey so it was fine for our needs.

We stayed for one night in a suite booked through Expedia and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the price paid. We chose the suite because it was advertised as having a separate sitting area and complimentary WiFi. However, the room did not appear to have a genuinely separate seating area as described, and we were not provided with any WiFi information on arrival. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including a broken and unstable table, an empty shower gel dispenser, an unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom, and a room telephone that did not work. We also attempted to contact room service at around 7pm and received no answer. The sofa bed was particularly disappointing. Our child, who normally sleeps very well, struggled to sleep on it and we did not feel it was suitable for use as a child's bed. The room was extremely hot on arrival, with the windows and curtains left open on one of the hottest days of the year. Despite putting the fans on immediately, it took a long time for the room to become comfortable. The hotel itself felt tired and dated in several areas and would benefit from refurbishment and improved maintenance. We were also disappointed by the breakfast arrangements. Information provided stated that weekday breakfast, including Mondays, was served from 7:00am. However, as it was a Bank Holiday Monday, breakfast did not start until 8:00am. Room was clean and well laid out - was good value for a suite and second room was well separated from bedroom for separation between parents and child. Bed was fairly comfy and on a hot day they did everything they could to cool the room down - windows opened and fan provided. Windows opened to rear of hotel so was nice and quiet. Dining room was nicely done out, breakfast was fine though only egg option on buffet was fried and not much selection in cereals or pastries. The teenage waiter looking at his phone most of the time also wasn't a great look. Hotel was conveniently located and parking at back seemed secure, although entrance and spaces were a bit narrow. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again, but if I needed to stay in the area I wouldn't avoid it.

A beautiful building just near Banbury Cross with a large carpark. It was only a short walk to the old town and through the shopping centre to the canal We enjoyed a modern well appointed large room with sofa and Smart TV in the main building. It was unfortunate that because we were in a corner there wasn't a view of the beautiful gardens. The dining room was contemporary and did have that view. The menu had something for everyone and the food was delicious and incredibly well priced. Portions were large and service great. A good buffet breakfast was available for a small extra on booking. Overall an excellent value overnight stay.

On the hottest day of the year our room had no fan, and the radiators in the dining room were broken so left on all day - unbearable! No plates at breakfast, no bread for toast, and all the juice had run out over half hour before the end. All in all, a very disappointing stay

Charming historic building with character, but the stay fell short overall. The room was acceptable, though lacking basic comforts (no fan on a very hot day) and minor housekeeping issues (dusty bedside tables). Staff were attentive, but operations felt poorly managed - breakfast was inconsistent, with key items missing and a lack of clarity on what was available. The location in Banbury wasn’t particularly appealing, and access to parking was challenging due to a very narrow entrance. Outdoor areas also appeared poorly maintained. In summary, a beautiful property with potential, but the overall experience wasn’t memorable.

Excellent value for money

I feel the hotel would benefit from a strict housekeeper. You get the feeling it run on a shoe string .I understand the building is very old ,but the carpets are dirty.The chairs had stains .( Not sure what it was. )Skirting boards were dirty. Shower and toilet badly stained. The breakfast was fine . Plenty to eat. Young staff in the dining room very good.

The staff are lovely, breakfast has lots of variety and staying in the rooms is a treat. Thank you again for another great stay!

Great couple of nights here . Clean , well maintained room . Very good breakfast at reasonable price. Hotel good location , central to town centre.

Room servicing could have been improved as no new bottle of water & carpet not swept . Overall good value for money

Best low cost place I have stayed. Boarding on luxury. Well maintained room lots of space for all parts desk,bed ,shower, vanity and toilet. Light and bright hallways and stairs. Quiet, nice size tv (noisy bathroom fan) would be my only complaint. Also great old feel to the reception area and comfortable lounge area. Great breakfast with lots of options. And all at a good price. Walking distance bro other shops and places to eat. Would definitely recommend

Room was very nice, recently upgraded by the looks of it. Location great and parking was free, just need to put your reg number in at the reception. Breakfast was great too, wide choice to choose from.

The room was basic but spotless. The bathroom toiletries were lovely. Everywhere had a fresh coat of paint and bathroom had recently been resealed everywhere so looked fresh / newly refurbed. Breakfast was in a nice room by the garden and quiet. Food was ok but I didn’t like the sausages. I heard them cooking eggs to order. Car parking was a blessing and staff were very friendly. Pillows could have been less hard. Location was perfect. Overall, a great little place to stay.
