This had fantastic breakfasts . Healthy choices as well the full cooked . Lovely balcony on the L level, accessible via the ordinary lift not the glass lift . Accessible room very big and an excellent comfortable bed with coffee facilities. Prices included breakfast but did not say it on the receipt . Excellent centre for walking from with the odd event straight outside . We had a massive carnival when we were there . A colour festival and many political events outside the parliament building close by . Jazz cafe next door with picky food but ample . Good restaurant’s off the main drag . Would stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Karl Johan Hotel. We were only there 2 nights, and had to leave really early the last morning to catch our flight, so only had the opportunity to experience the breakfast one morning. Pros: - Centrally located between the castle and Oslo's Central Station. - You are in the middle of everything going on (and trust me, there was A LOT going on on a sunny Saturday in June!). - Because you are in the middle of everything, it is very walkable. - The rooms were really comfortable - Beds, air conditioning, blackout drapes. - Large selection of foods at the breakfast buffet. - Love, love, love that every hotel we stayed in in Norway had a card slot when you entered your room to activate the electricity in the room (the only challenge is when you want to charge a device, like a Kindle, when you are out and about). Cons: - We were on the second floor and there was A LOT going on in the park across from the hotel. It was quite noisy, primarily the amplified music. - Walking from Central Station to the hotel only took about 12 minutes, but there were a lot of cobblestones and uneven surfaces to negotiate (we had 3 rolling bags). While it shouldn't be a deterrent to anyone, people should be prepared. We didn't look into a taxi/uber or any other public transportation to get us closer, but I'm sure there are options.

Gorgeous place right next to the well known Grand Hotel. This was just as good! Superb breakfast. Lovely rooms.

Clean room. Good AC. Pillows need to be replaced. The door is tricky to lock. Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious.

Meget små værelser. Manglende rengøring pga mangel på personale. Vi sørgede selv for rene håndklæder. Positivt var beliggenheden og en virkelig god morgenmadsbuffet.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. Despite the fact that there was a general strike of hotel workers, those on duty were seen to ensure that the high standard of service was maintained, with rooms clean, tidy and ready for guests. The breakfast was excellent with the selection one of the best we have experienced.

Small standard double room but cosy. Excellent breakfast in a lightly place. Hotel very well located in the city centre.

I had been recommended this hotel for our 2 night stay in Oslo. The location is superb. The hotel is nice, in a lovely building. The rooms are on the small side, with difficult access into the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable with lovely bedding. However, the towels were simply awful. They are very small and not pleasant to use, being polyester and cotton - and I am a small person. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. I would recommend it. Please note that there seems to be strike of housekeeping going on. I am not sure if this is throughout Oslo, or just this hotel. We were not forewarned. However, it did not affect us. The staff we met were lovely.

Breakfast was outstanding. Front staff were very accommodating. There is a service staff strike going on. Had to ask for towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. It felt like a problem if you asked for the room to be cleaned. We didn’t.
