One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful building. Excellent location. Amazing views of Lugano. Rooms are spacious and clean. Amenities are excellent. We had one day of bad weather and used their indoor swimming pool/hot tub facilities. It was amazing. Breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend .

In two weeks of travel in Europe, we had one bad meal -- at La Veranda. Everything that went into my mouth was distasteful. Portions were ridiculous, and prices were obscene. I expected fine dining at a high price. Instead I got lousy food at a high price! Think about it....five (small) tasteless, chewy ravioli, in an unpleasant sauce, for $ 50. Really??
This was our last evening, and I wanted it to be memorable. It was, but not in the way I had hoped!
Everything else about the hotel was appreciated.

The staff were wonderful. I travel with my dog and have never stayed anywhere where ALL the staff were so dog friendly.
The food was excellent. Breakfast was a large buffet with FRESH juice every morning. We ate in the bar several times and had room service and all was to an excellent standard.
The spa is modern and very relaxing. I can highly recommend their signature "Viaggio Sensoriale a Lugano" treatment. It was amongst the best spa treatments I've ever had. Expensive, but worth every penny. Ask for Lisa. She's incredible.
The rooms we stayed in were outdated and definitely need a refurb. But they were large, so lots of space. We stayed in the building on the left. I believe the main building has far more updated rooms. Of course they are priced accordingly.
The surrounding area is lovely. Lugano is small, quaint and beautiful with lots of great food, shopping and cultural options. I hiked from Paradiso to Morcote with my dog, which we both recommend :-)
Also took a ferry which is a great way to get around. Avoid the buses at rush hour.
