This is my go to hotel when I am on a short stay in Sydney. It is cheap, has no pretentions and is on the direct train line to the airport. Sure the facilities are shared but no big deal for me . They are spotless and shampoo, body wash and conditioner are supplied. If food is required the bar has a kitchen and there are convenience stores just around the corner. I will be back in October and have already booked

Excellent location. Check-in easy. Room very basic but tea/coffee, fridge and microwave good inclusions. Share bathroom was a nice surprise: modern and completely private room. Noise from Level 2 function centre a problem for guests on Level 3. Hot water in rooms and showers took forever to reach the taps. A basic budget older style hotel room that has had a makeover. Good for singles. Suggest couples would be best in a room next level up from double. Some rooms were larger with double and one single bed - worth the extra dollars for more space.

It was the best price I could find for the area. It is an old hotel pub combined, on the Saturday I was there the music was awful till 12 pm sharp. The walls are thin and traffic noise intruded all night. Bed was comfortable and clean the room was large and had good fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster tea and coffee, milks in fridge. The shower and toilets were shared and easily lockable and private. It was clean and for its age pretty good. 5 mins walk to Barangaroo boardwalk, 5 mins walk to George St, 2 mins walk to Wynyard Station. So, swings and roundabouts.

Old property that isn't well maintained- the windows in my room were broken and on the street side right by the bed so it was impossible to get good sleep. The shared amenities weren't as clean as i wouldn't hoped for. Additionally with the place being located on top of a bar and the lack of a proper reception made for an interesting experience- as well as this being very loud. However, the only redeemable quality we experienced in our time were the incredible staff, they were very polite and were helpful in holding our luggage for us. It is also in a very ideal location which is why i had higher expectations.

We had Room #30. Right next to the old lift. One window overlooking York Street, no sound-proofing. As you'd expect barely slept with the internal (lift) and external noise. Bathroom was a shared affair, which was acceptable, given hardly anyone seemed to use it. The room's air conditioner was poor, blowing warm air even though set at 20oC. In fact the entire room got hotter as the night progressed making any chance at sleep even harder. Bottom line: you get what you pay for (and sometimes even less).
