Very nice

Lovely hotel but be aware that it is historic with no AC. They supply a fan that doesn't do much, we visited in end of June and we were sweating at night. Opening the windows gave no relief either. It was hard to fall asleep. I would avoid in summer months. The other issue in Rothenburg area only couple taxis available. We booked a taxi thru hotel on our checkout date at 10:15 am then realized we needed to catch an earlier train. So I notified the hotel the day before to ask if we can change it to 09:30 instead. They informed me they can't change it because they are fully booked. So I said ok- obviously I had no other choice (Uber not an option in that town). The next day we checkout, the frontdesk lady saw us waiting outside at 10:am, 10:15 rolls in no taxi. I go back in ask the front desk, she said oh I canceled it yesterday! Im like what? I didn't ask you to cancel! And if you were confused how about you call your guest and ask should we cancel? Then u saw us outside- what did u think we were waiting for??? When our only option was the taxi you canceled!! A bit of common sense would have gone a long way and better communication. I was a bit upset and she was asking me to calm down ( I was not yelling just upset and asking her who said to cancel my taxi). Instead of apologizing and owning up for the mistake, she acted like I'm being irrational. You canceled my taxi without notifying me, you claimed it is fully booked and I have a train to catch...so yeah I got upset!

Great location. Nice rooms. But no AC so the room is hot and hard to sleep.

If it's hot (like it was when I was there), make sure you don't get the room with the walkway outside the windows (like I did). Not air conditioned (like all of Rothenberg) but I was unable to open the windows without the thought of someone peering or stepping into my room. Nice place but because of these reasons, I did not enjoy my stay.

The hotel experience was great, room super clean and comfortable, the only issue I had, was, I booked my hotel through Expedia and I include breakfast options on my reservation and payment, when I was doing my check out, the lady at the from Desk, told me that I need to pay for my breakfast, I mentioned, that I booked and paid it when I booked online, because that is what O so, every time I have that option, but it was in vain, I guess the money I paid was include as a room payment, that mean, that I pay a higher room fee per night, so, make sure you have your reservation clear, because they are no to polite. But, like I mentioned before, the hotel is excellent, breakfast is great, location is super, and 14 minutes walk from Train Station. Not polite, and have your reservation and payment clear.

This hotel is just a 2 mins walk from the town square and is so well maintained. The front desk was so helpful answering all our questions and the rooms were so beautiful and clean. Would highly recommend. Parking is a couple blocks away (7 min walk)

We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and the staff helpful and friendly.

We were in the hotel annex building which is across the road from the main hotel. It was a bit tired and musty smelling. The room was clean enough but drab. The breakfast buffet was abysmal. I know there was a heatwave but nothing was in place to keep food cool or covered. There was bread which was covered in flies, cold meat which was looked as if it had been sitting since the night before, cheese that was so melted it was horrible. There was a poor selection of fresh fruit and the yogurt looked curdled. Not a nice breakfast buffet. There was seating out the front of the hotel but you couldn’t get drinks there at night unless you went in for them yourself as they stopped waiter service at the front in the evening. The town was beautiful and I was really looking forward to seeing it but the hotel was a let down. Would not stay there again.

The interior design of this hotel and location are excellent. We especially enjoyed the balcony view of our room. The staff, however, was not very helpful. Our mini bar in the room wasn't working and we were told that mini bars are not supposed to keep things cool. There are also no coffee or tea makers in the rooms. We asked to borrow a water kettle, but were told they aren't permitted in rooms of old hotels--also not true. The rooms are also very hot with no cross ventilation, so if the weather is warm, I would not recommend staying here.

A really charming hotel right beside the main square. The room was spacious and nicely furnished and the view was great. It was a little hot owing to the heatwave but being able to open the large windows at night worked well to cool the room down.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location to explore the city. Make sure you reserve a parking spot in advance and confirm it or you’ll need to park outside the city walls.

Best hotel in Bavaria! We stayed at lots of them and Hotel Eisenhut in Rothenberg ob der Tauber was our favorite. The restaurant cuisine was amazing and the view was amazing. We loved the easy access from the front of the hotel to the marienplatz, but were happy to find the garden entrance at the rear for access to the city wall and garden. I hope to stay again!

Perfect Location, right near the square and the Kathie wolfhart store. Breakfast was excellent. The lady at check in had never heard of the restaurant I asked about. It was literally out their back patio and down some steps. I would say she was fairly unhelpful. Hopefully she was new. No AC and it was in the 90s however there was a fan in the room. Parking is a bit sways in an old converted barn but it was great to check in and thrn twke the car to park. However nice stay.

This beautiful hotel in the fairy tale town of Rothenburg was amazing. The staff was helpful and compassionate to our travel issues along the way. Hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of town.

Location, location, location! You really can’t beat the location of this hotel. And it feels like a dream come true. It was the perfect base to explore the town. We could come and go as we wanted. I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else.

Reception staff ignored me standing there whilst getting herself a drink and faffing, when her colleague became available more than 5 mins later, she then said to see the one who had stood ignoring me. After a very long drive all we wanted was to drop the bikes and park the car then head to the room. No she wouldn’t let either happen until I have taken the bag to the room. After 10 ish hours in the car I didn’t need it. The night porter was lovely and went out his way to listen and help. Breakfast… food couldn’t fault, but had to go hunting for staff to ask if needed room number and where to sit etc. then hunt for a clean table, we went in pre 9am and the amount of dirty tables and stuff on the floor was a joke for a 4* Location- brilliant Night staff - brilliant Room cleanliness - brilliant Reception staff, and breakfast cleanliness turned it from a 4* to a 2*
