Best hotel in Bavaria! We stayed at lots of them and Hotel Eisenhut in Rothenberg ob der Tauber was our favorite. The restaurant cuisine was amazing and the view was amazing. We loved the easy access from the front of the hotel to the marienplatz, but were happy to find the garden entrance at the rear for access to the city wall and garden. I hope to stay again!

This beautiful hotel in the fairy tale town of Rothenburg was amazing. The staff was helpful and compassionate to our travel issues along the way. Hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of town.

Location, location, location! You really can’t beat the location of this hotel. And it feels like a dream come true. It was the perfect base to explore the town. We could come and go as we wanted. I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else.

Perfect Location, right near the square and the Kathie wolfhart store. Breakfast was excellent. The lady at check in had never heard of the restaurant I asked about. It was literally out their back patio and down some steps. I would say she was fairly unhelpful. Hopefully she was new. No AC and it was in the 90s however there was a fan in the room. Parking is a bit sways in an old converted barn but it was great to check in and thrn twke the car to park. However nice stay.

Reception staff ignored me standing there whilst getting herself a drink and faffing, when her colleague became available more than 5 mins later, she then said to see the one who had stood ignoring me. After a very long drive all we wanted was to drop the bikes and park the car then head to the room. No she wouldn’t let either happen until I have taken the bag to the room. After 10 ish hours in the car I didn’t need it.
The night porter was lovely and went out his way to listen and help.
Breakfast… food couldn’t fault, but had to go hunting for staff to ask if needed room number and where to sit etc. then hunt for a clean table, we went in pre 9am and the amount of dirty tables and stuff on the floor was a joke for a 4*

My 10y old son and I went by ourselves and felt so safe! The most perfect area. The bathroom was incredibly spacious, but I felt a huge slip hazard. Rooms are a great size. The front desk let me store our bags there 5 hours before check in as well!

The location was excellent and the room was larger than expected. We had a view of the valley and a balcony. The only negative was no AC but a fan was provided and the heat was not an issue. Would stay again.

Excellent location, beer garden is so/so. Didn’t use the restaurant as it was on the expensive side and we found better value away from the hotel. Our room was on the 3rd floor in the neighboring property but had take 2 lifts to access so not very convenient. Breakfast was $20 Euro if paid in advance or $25 morning of, if you are an early risers than I recommend as nothing is open before 9am accept for 1 bakery. Parking is good but need to book well in advance to secure free spot otherwise $8 in the public space for 24hrs outside the city walls and 500m back to the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes but there are many choices and in more quiet areas of the town.

Hotel is lovely, such a beautiful old building but rooms are modern enough. The reception staff and especially the waiting staff were beyond helpful and friendly. The bar staff in the evening were patient (we had a big group) and thoughtful, we really appreciated it. Would definitely recommend staying here

This was a very unique hotel! Updated rooms, but hallways and restaurant area contained very cool antique furniture and pictures! Location was awesome, right in town, breakfast delightful and lots of choice, hot and cold food. Definitely worth $19. Would stay here again if in area! If good enough for Winston Churchill, good enough for me!

Our room, a superior double room DID NOT look anything like the pictures online. The room was large and clean but the furniture was old, the bed had a thin uncomfortable mattress and the room was not nicely decorated. The hotel is run down. Don’t count on getting parking. Even though this hotel is listed as having parking it is only 14 spaces for a couple of hundred rooms. Staff was not helpful and sent us to the tourist info center. There was a festival going on that the hotel did not notify us about until I requested parking. Loud drums and parading past our windows until after 1 am.
I would not recommend this hotel.
