Staff is nice. Rooms were kept clean. It’s an excellent location to everything. And the 3 day transit card is nice. Allows u to get to the other place a bit further out (gondola, lake Louise, Canmore, etc). Will be staying there again.

Since refurb the rooms are great. Fridge and microwave meant we had breakfast in the room. Rocky Mountain Soap company products in bathroom were awesome. Corridors are aged so not red carpet as you would expect :) once you get in the rooms it's great. We were in 207. Love having a mountain view and we can people watch Banff Av. This particular room however, had 2 air con units and 2 cheap plastic chairs and aged carpet on the balcony. With creative placement it was okay but a little disappointed there. Room however, was awesome. Check in was at Irwin's next door, friendly and efficient. WiFi was weak and often disconnected. Went for a refreshing hot tub... Closed for maintenance .. we wished we had been told prior to our stay. Not too far from downtown at all. We've stayed several times and would stay again for sure.

There was no mountain view. Clearly, we were tricked with the “bait and switch” con. We were given a different room than advertised and had no response from customer service for more than five hours so got stuck with it despite a significant price difference; the whole reason we chose the “superior king” was for a view. There is no check in at the hotel, you have to go next door to a different hotel: and the service was terrible. I asked where to put a paper bag for recycling and front desk shrugged and told me to put it in the trash- this is in a national park where recycling is a bylaw. We were eventually checked in and given our key and they clearly watched us go with all our luggage in the wrong direction, struggling with bags trying to find our room until we returned to the lobby and were told we had to physically go outside into a different building that had no front desk service etc. The room is cramped yet the bathroom is huge for no reason. The room was loud because it is at the top of a stairwell and apparently not much soundproofing. Has the feel of a hostel even though the front lobby looked very nice and we paid nearly $300. Don’t waste your money. Would have been okay if price was much lower and wasn’t mis advertised as mountain view. Very disappointing.

Location is great, room was spacious, had a small balcony, very clean. There is no reception desk in this hotel, you have to go to the hotel next door to check in. There is an underground parkade wlth 5'10" clearance, and they also have on-site parking at the back of the hotel. Overall, very nice hotel, would stay there again.

Room was clean, however dated. Beds were extremely comfortable. Downsides were, room was smokin hot. No heat on, and cool outside. Turning the air on made things worse, as it sounded like a freight train in the room. Had to sleep with patio door open to cool off, then it was cold. Couldn’t win. 15 minute walk to downtown, but don’t expect any extras at hotel, as this is a place to sleep only, oh and the only ice machine in lobby, never had ice. Would have expected a little better for the price. But wasn’t anything cheap or reasonable in Banff

The location was good. You can't check-in at this hotel but have to go to the one next door. When we got to the next door hotel to check-in to the Red Carpet Inn, the only staff member available was trying to explain to a couple of Japanese tourists about tour choices The couple could not make up their minds while several customers were waiting to be checked-in. After standing around for half an hour, I asked whether there was somebody else to check us in. There wasn't. Finally we got to the front desk and I asked why the Red Carpet Inn's website did not mention that there were no staff at the Red Carpet Inn to check us in. The front desk agent said that Expedia would have informed me. He was right - the booking confirmation from Expedia mentioned this fact in the fine print which I missed as I generally do not bother with fine print. After completion of the check-in, we asked for help unloading the car and transporting our luggage to the room. They normally do not provide this service, but one of the staff generously helped us. When we got to our room we found the door squeaked very loudly and ominously. We called it the "Haunted Hotel". The air conditioner and exhaust fan in the bathroom were both loud enough to wake the dead. Not recommended for the price we paid for the room. Expedia should have been more upfront about the poor quality and inconvenience.
