Lovely hotel and grounds. Staff very friendly, helpful, accommodating and efficient …. went above and beyond to source non feather pillows for our asthmatic family member … (staff member went to store to buy some as all existing ones being used) … outstanding service 😃 thank you. We initially had a problem with rooms being too far apart (as traveling with a disabled person and needed them close), but it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Rooms were spotless, very roomy and beds extremely comfortable. The Leisure pool/ sauna/ steam room were lovely …. had a large disabled changing room which was great and we used this every day. Overall we had a lovely 2 night stay and would definitely return next time we are visiting family again.

Lovely welcome by friendly receptionist. Clean hotel room, comfortable bed. Fridge in room. All the mod cons. Great base for exploring area. Stunning heated swimming pool & jacuzzi. Cheerful, hardworking staff in restaurant. Breakfast, lots of choice, delicious. Had one dinner & must say, it was also delicious. Greeted by cleaning staff, who still made time to greet, even though hotel was super busy.

the property is okay, but it just so happened that there was a major road closure around 3 miles from the hotel. This gave us the run-around delays and un-updated car GPS taking us back to the same spot where the road was closed (for at least 1 year) . Thus, this road closure made our driving experience to the hotel, not a great one, to say the least.

Overall ok: but the room (146) is not what is pictured on the website. It had very tired old earl 2000s furniture which was damaged and very knocked around. Otherwise overall a very nice hotel.

Very disappointed in this hotel, firstly to be charged the added deposit of £100 on arrival that was not stipulated on the booking site, then to be questioned awkwardly as to why I queried it, when I noticed it had be taken out of my account was totally unacceptable. Secondly the state of the spa area was to say the least very disappointing, firstly the jacuzzi only works 7 minutes off then 7 minutes on and this was supposed to be a full seven minutes on, we timed it to be more 4 to 5 minutes. The biggest complaint was the steam room was awful, grubby. ingrained dirt on the seats and smelted awful, both the doors to the steam-room and sauna needed cleaning, this resulted in my partner coming out in a rash that over her body. When I mentioned this to the Spa staff they really did not seem bothered. we booked a two spa break but used the facility once due to this concern. Thirdly the communication on the complaints has not really been dealt with satisfactory and the Spa concerns have been totally not recognized in the email process. I have used the Marriot chain many times before with no issues but this one was a total let down on what looked on paper a lovely hotel and what could be a nice break away, certainly not value for money. The only compliment i can give this place is the staff on duty where very friendly and polite and respectful, its the facility's and after care I would question due to the disappointment

Good hotel that has some issues. It didn’t seem to have any management or enough staff. Those who were working did a great job under pressure. It took them hours to find non feather pillows. The room tea and coffee selection was very poor. 1 toilet roll only. Toilet not working properly. No oat milk at restaurant (just my preference). Very few staff at restaurants areas, however the food was good and tasty. V noisy on Saturday night outside hotel.

Used the bus. I was looking out for delta marriot as on all correspondance. The bus calls it the chase hotel. I did not realise this was the same and went a mile. down the road. I waited for the cold for half an hour . The chase is in small letters outside and not on my prints outs of the booking.this needs sorting.

Unfortunate start to the stay. Arrived at the correct checkin time but room was not ready. You would have thought that house keeping would be supplied with a list of rooms to clean first. All this meant that we did not get a room.on the ground floor as requested. Also it was a shame that the pool and spa closed early evening. Very spacious room that was clean and tidy and plenty of tea and coffee. Clean bathroom but bath outlet did not work correctly as seemed to be damaged and comings off. Evening meal and breakfast was good. Would I stay again....maybe if in the area.

For a Marriott Hotel we have been extremely disappointed. From the moment at check in staff were not welcoming, nor friendly. She was abrupt and seemed annoyed that she had to check us in. For two seniors, we were placed at the end of a hall and took the lift only to find we had stairs to tackle down with all our luggage. Dinner was horrible! Table was dirty and had not been cleaned, the burger and brat was the worst we’ve ever had. Dry, over cooked and tasteless. The lounge area always has dirty dishes laying around from past patrons, while staff is sitting around chatting away. The beds were nice, but the plug in locations do not make sense. No way to use blow dryer in the bathroom and no plugs close to beds. Breakfast was decent although absolutely no staff around to assist patrons who ended up helping each other out. Maybe Marriott should be paying us instead of the employees. Oh and speaking of employers, we over heard one complain that her coworker was always late to work as he scurried in the door. Coffee machines need to be cleaned, caked with old coffee stains and build up.! Have had better service and facilities at other less “Marriott” type hotels! Management needs to step it up! And Corporate Marriott Hotels needs to visit this location.

There was only one problem the phone in the room was ringing at 12 midnight , the next day it was half one in the night then six o'clock in the morning and seven the same day when we pick it up there was no answer.they said it was a fault but they had problems before but didn't tell us.

Booked a 2 night stay for a romantic getaway & to explore the surrounding area. On arrival at 2.30 our room was ready which was a nice surprise. We unpacked & went to the spa, it’s very small, only 2 loungers & 6 chairs bu the pool & they were all taken. The jacuzzi was full too so we had a swim, the pool wasn’t very warm & then eventually a few people vacated the jacuzzi so we hoped in, but unfortunately it wasn’t working properly the bubbles when they started were very underwhelming! The changing room were small & busy too, all in all we weren’t very impressed with the spa & pool so decided not to use it again. We had booked a table in the restaurant for dinner & that was very nice. Service was good as was food. Breakfast the next morning wasn’t quite so good, the pastries were stale & the cooked breakfast wasn’t particularly plentiful the fried eggs were dried up & inedible. Breakfast staff not particularly helpful just wandering around not even cleaning & replenishing tables.
