We stayed in a large refurbished room, comfortable bed, large bathroom super show and nice toiletries. The breakfast was lovely there could be a better bread choice selection and it gets busy and the staff are at full stretch but it didn't detract from their professionalism. We used the bus and if you plan and get the right ticket it works saves messing around looking for parking spots.Thoroughly recommend.

Staff helpful, room good quality. Food good. But going through refurbishment and it might have been better if that had been disclosed upfront as it meant gym not fully functional and restaurant at dinner cramped so did not eat there. Better at breakfast.

Some really good points to start. The location of the hotel is super handy for Gloucester/Cheltenham/Cotswolds etc the car park is large and free. We didn’t find any issues with parking. The room we stayed in for a week was their basic double and it was large with a comfortable bed. The room was serviced each day. We opted not to have their breakfast but did eat once at the hotel. The service was pretty slow and the bar service was also slow. We had a treatment in the spa it was very average. Nothing you’d feel like you needed to complain about but also no something I would buy again. The facilities are small and the locker room needs a refresh. Overall found this to be a good base to explore the area.

The grounds are lovely and the pool is great. The room was big and very clean, but the mattress was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve slept on and the room lacked basic things you’d expect from this star rated hotel - like conditioner and pens.

A middle of the road hotel with okay facilities. Everything was clean. Some areas could do with a little attention (e.g. broken lift which looked like it had been out of action a long time). Staff were often distracted (joking around talking to each other rather than serving) and looked visibly annoyed when responding to small requests (e.g. lime slice rather than lemon). Staff seemed very overwhelmed having a wedding at the hotel, and the normal bar area needed extra staff to clear tables, so many dirty glasses on all the tables. Spa team did manage to squeeze us in for a treatment but we'd not been able to pre book as their system was down, which they didn't know about.

The room and the site was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly. The food was... nice presented, but... could be better (yes, I know, this is a very subjective thing). The room was spacious and cosy. I liked the size of the bathtub. The swimming pool is large, but... not enough places to place your towel. Extra slim benches placed next to the wall would improve the experience a lot. There is not timer in the sauna and neither on the wall in front of the sauna (to can watch it from inside).

Second visit to The Chase hotel, very pleased with everything. Nice rooms, comfy bed. Haven’t tried breakfast but ate from the lounge menu in the evening which was very good.

The bedroom.was really spacious, beautiful high quality pillows and bedding. We've innthe restaurant and they were having building work done ar the time, there was dust over menus etc. Food was ok, staff had very limited knowledge of the wines available.
Would overall recommend as its a convenient place to stay

Major staffing issue in kitchen and hospitality - we waited 40 mins for a sharer and starter on Saturday night, then it all came together. Another table of 6 waited 1 hr 40 mins for one salad to arrive! Salmon dish was tiny and overcooked. Sent it back. The waiter Omar was brilliant at service recovery and very apologetic - hats off to him. Breakfast was pretty poor too - only one coffee machine for hundreds of guests, food took ages to be replenished and tables not cleared. Staff on reception not so helpful - on arrival on Saturday afternoon after a very long journey I was advised the pool would be open until 8.45pm, to then go to the spa at 7pm to find it was closed on weekends at 6.45pm - very annoying! Specifically booked the hotel for use of the pool. When I did use it the facilities were dated, pool smaller than photos suggest and an aqua class was going on one morning! Best part was the room - nice size room, nice furnishings, good bed and a fridge. This is why I haven’t given it a ‘terrible’ rating. Mostly clean but dust on lamps and headboard. Good easy parking. Overall a 90’s tired hotel needing some updating with major service issues.
