Everything about our stay was perfect. Every member of staff that we interacted with was very polite and helpful. The breakfast and evening meal that we had was delicious and the rooms were clean and spacious. We will be returning

Check in/out was seamless with pleasant staff. The executive room with water view balcony was lovely and clean. Air con worked nice during the heatwave one night, but was blowing out warm air during our second night which was the only blemish on a fantastic stay. Breakfast was self service and kept nice and hot. There’s a few eating places and convenience stores within a five minute walk. With the Custom House Elizabeth Line train station within five minutes, you’re just less than 20 minutes away from Central London on new air conditioned trains. Would definitely use this hotel again,

The yacht is lovely, a little dated and tired now (having stayed on and loved the sister yacht in Gibraltar, it really doesn't compare!!!). Room was a great size, bathroom was basic. Nice touches leaving water and a small birthday treat for hubby. Staff were really friendly, until they messed our bar bill up and charged us 3 times what they were supposed to, and then were unable to refund it as they didnt know how!! The managed fixed it for us the next morning, but they way all the waiting staff were inexperienced no one able to take control in the evening let it down. Breakfast was buffet. And plentiful. Was nice to enjoy a drink on the front deck after as the weather was great.

AVOID IF YOU ARE A FAMILY OR HAVE HEALTH CONDITIONS RELATED TO HEAT!! We booked a family room for 09/07 - advertised with air conditioning. NONE OF THE AIR CON WORKS HERE! We had noticed when we ate in the bar earlier but assumed rooms would be ok. We had to complain twice during the evening as it wasn’t working; my eldest daughter was lying in the floor trying to sleep - eventually after midnight someone came. They had no fans (I had to ask), no water offered either. We packed up and went to reception to speak to the manager; it was 12.35am. Her first solution was I was welcome to find another hotel! This is after midnight, in London, with 2 children! I told her this was unacceptable and she then suddenly could find another room. It was on the first floor (we had paid more for a room with a balcony) - the air conditioning also wasn’t working here. She admitted the system wasn’t coping and also said with 4 people in the room it would be worse - a poor excuse, we’ve never had this issue before and, if the system cannot cope, family rooms should not be sold. The manager then asked my husband to help her drag in a camp bed for one of the children. At this point we decided to split, one child and adult in each room. The manager was heavily pregnant and should not have been in a position to drag a bed or ask a guest to do so. By this time it was 1am - we struggled to sleep at all. Neringa the day manager said as the Sunborn is metal it cannot cope with the heat. AVOID!

Bed was uncomfortable. Two single beds joined together with a thin double mattress put on top. There was a dip down the middle of the bed where there was a gap between the beds. It’s a real shame as the hotel was pleasant and very quiet.

Overall, we had a nice time. Booked as I had always wanted to stay on the Sunborn and we were going to a concert at the 02 so it was convenient. Room was fine - we booked an executive king river view. Small balcony with chairs but you could only see the river if you stood up. Bathroom basic and lacked touches like shower cap etc. Boat was beautiful with large staircase in centre- stunning. Staff were pleasant and helpful- special call out to Luca on reception. We went for a drink on 5th floor bar and discovered how corporate the boat was when approximately 60 people converged in, with free drinks for them and high noise levels which spoiled both the view and ambience. There was something on at Excel and Sunborn were hosting an event for them which lasted from 5-11pm. We went to 5th floor bar outside at 11.15 pm and had lovely view of 02 and surrounding lit up buildings- favourite part of our stay. Breakfast was the most disappointing- totally self service with items that had been cooked possibly 2 hours earlier being left warm. We did ask for fresh eggs as the fried ones were hard, but when a fresh dish came out they were the same. Tip- get to breakfast early! Pastries were not fresh. Would we stay again? Probably not.

When we arrived it was slightly early but our room was ready and we were given an upgrade to a free breakfast, which was delicious! The choice of food was excellent. The hotel was a beautiful boat, felt very sumptuous and the room was enormous!! It was double the size of a normal London hotel room. I would happily stay at The Sunborn again and would highly recommend staying there.

Amazing yacht, very luxurious feel, absolutely no issues with the hotel experience but the dining is not to the luxury setting, food very good, service average at best. There was an event at excel when we stayed and two companies had booked out two bar areas of the yacht whilst we stayed this was frustrating as it left just an indoor resident bar that effectively was a room with zero atmosphere. Breakfast good, but runs out quickly and you are left to wait for it being replenished. Great location if visiting excel or Docklands, very close to Custom House DLR/Tube, only ten mins into central London. Nice to do something different and the cabins are spacious and luxurious.

....A terrific & unique place to stay, away from frenetic central areas of the city but with easy access to DLR etc. Cabins are spacious & with added comforts of the speciality coffee machine & the best bathrobes ever! The yacht is beautifully appointed with the accent on a relaxed stay & choice of dining. Comfortable bar & seating areas inside & out. The friendly & helpful staff complete the whole happy experience. Highly reccommend!

A shout out to the staff. The WiFi in my room was poor and unstable. When I let them know, they switched me to a new room, and called to double check that the WiFi was up to the mark. Professional and friendly service. The hotel is in a converted yacht and moored at a great location - there is lots of space all around and splendid views of the city. One does not feel boxed in as in many other hotels which are located next to other buildings.

Great hotel style. Clean rooms. Good size with 2 beds. Staff were helpful (not anlways upbeat though) . Location is not far from Custom House tube station. Breakfast was average - try and use the main room. The coffee from their machines was horrible. Have the room coffee instead. Rooms have coffee machines. Family friendly
