Color Design Hotel

For a low cost, very solid stay. Simple check in & out. Building & area felt safe enough. Lively neighborhood but the hotel is on a quiet street. They keep the room keys when you left which felt odd at first but ultimately it’s one less thing to lose. Desk always staffed. Wifi was finicky but mostly operational. I wouldn't recommend if fast connection is a priority. Rooms are small but perfectly functional. Staff refreshed the room everyday. A little rough around the edges, aged caulking in the bathroom, broken toilet buttons, minor, minor things. Why bother with an extra breakfast when there are innumerable cafes around? If you are planning to sleep & wash up here, it is perfect in my opinion. If you want lavish, maybe look further.

We stayed in a room right next to the elevator and you could hear it going up and down all night, as well as being able to hear everything through the doors. There may as well have not been a wall. The room wasn’t really anything like the picture. There also didn’t appear to be a smoke alarm in our room…

The linen of the room was horrible; seems clean but when you look closely it has a lot of pubic hair entangled with the bed linen. The lady front desk officer isn't friendly to answer guest's inquiries, we did even waited for her to finish recording the news about airbnb's before she attends to us. The guy front desk officer whose shift starts after her is more helpful and know's how hostality works for guests like us.

elevator not working - my parents had a hard time getting to 5th floor

TL:DR - Not perfect but great where it matters and I'd definitely stay there again. The Detail - The hotel's location is in a normal, working class area or Paris. It's fine, I never felt unsafe. Local bars & restaurants are good. Nearest Metro (Ledru Rollin) is about 7-10 minutes walk, Gare De Lyon 12-15 minutes. Hotel public areas are a little tired & scuffed up. My room was plain but everything worked & was spotlessly clean. Bathroom good, shower had excellent water pressure but was a little slow to drain. Not a big problem. The air con was brilliant, I actually had to back it off a bit, despite it being quite warm outside. Bed linens & towels spotless. Free hotel internet was pretty slow - I wouldn't be able to use it for work. The staff were friendly, helpful. I needed an ice pack keeping cool for keeping medicine chilled on my onward journey & this was accommodated without hesitation. The biggest disconnect is between the public photo's and the reality. They must show the best room, just after a refresh. I'd really like their website designer to revise my Tinder profile. That's not to say the hotel is bad....it's not. Just a little plain and in need of an update. It offers great value for money, I'd definitely stay there again and I'd recommend it. Oh, I've just remembered the safe. I couldn't get it to lock and it wasn't secured to anything anyway. I could put under my arm and walk off with it! But I never felt like my possessions were at risk.

There are some good rooms and some old crappy rooms so make sure you ask for a newer room. Also every time you leave the property they take your room key from you !! In my 68 years of traveling the world never have I had to surrender my room key every time I left the hotel VERY STANGE POLICY

Breakfast- good selection and it was nice. At 15 Euros it was good. Space- room was very small. The steps up were narrow and so was the elevator. TV- was all in French and we couldn’t get any programming in English nor was there CC in English Sleep- the bed was comfortable and the street was quiet.

Location was okay, the direct neighbourhood seemed sketchy at night. Hotel seems dated compared to the photos.

Pros: great location. Air conditioning. Nice shower and very comfy bed. 24hr staff desk. Cons: Room was small and not really like the pictures at all. Shower had some mouldy sealant. Staff came into room to replace towels, which we hadn’t been told about. Staff overall not very talkative or friendly although I appreciate the language barrier.

The street and the alley we walked down just didn't seem safe, especially in the evening. We had to leave the key each time we left. There was a little safe, however it could be picked up and taken away. The receptionist at check in was more interested in her phone conversation, than us. When we checked out, there was a lovely lady who helped us get a cab.

Good breakfast buffet. Very nice staff.

The hotel looks nothing like the picture. They make return the key every time you go somewhere because they don’t have any other copy.

Nice little hotel very close-walkable distance -to a main train station( Gar de Lyon). Shopping and eating places were around.

The room was rather Spartan, but one cannot beat the location...

Nice hotel conveniently located close to Gare de Lyon. Clean. Comfortable. And reasonably priced. A very good find for Paris.

The different color

It was very very very bad experience.There Was an error in my selection for my kids.1 room was booked.but they forced me to take 2 rooms and charged 200 Euro extra.I requested to mange 1 family room and adjust the price.but they forced me to take 2 rooms and i paid 200 euro extra for 2 nights but we stayed in one room cause i cant leave my kids undee 9 years old into another room.The building has manufacture defect.bathroom door doesnt lock.not sure how they are running hotel.I wish they refund my 200 euro

The picture online of the lobby, was nothing like the lobby. Guest have to turn in their room key each time they want to go out.
