What Guests Say About Their Stay

The Corinthia is a beautiful hotel in the middle of everything. Our room was very large and luxurious, the lobby area is beautiful and the staff was all very helpful and pleasant. There are wonderful dining options nearby, public buses and trolleys are steps away, and many attractions are an easy walk.

Absolutely excellent hotel in pretty much every respect. A word of advice if you are thinking of upgrading room though. About a week prior to arriving you may receive an email from the hotel via 'Oaky', who are a third-party upselling provider used by many hotels, offering various upgrades (room type, bottle of wine in room etc.). We were being offered an upgrade to a Junior Suite for between 100 and 130 Euros extra per night (the price varying day by day as we got closer to arrival), with an upgrade to a Deluxe Suite usually about 30 Euros more than the Junior price at the time. I resisted, hoping that prices would drop l lot nearer to check-in time, but they didn't. When we arrived I asked at the desk about upgrade options, and was immediately told that we could upgrade to a Deluxe Suite (so better than Junior Suite) from the room type we already had booked for only 80 Euros extra per night, less than half the 170 Euro price that the Oaky system was offering at that very same moment, so we snapped it up! This price was shown to me on a pre-printed grid of upgrade options, so it wasn't a price being made up on the spot and is thus presumably available to all if you ask (subject to availability of course). Ignore Oaky then! Absolutely fabulous room with separate sitting room and 2 bathrooms! Great breakfast included with loads of options - best we have had in a hotel. The Spa was great, as was the Executive Lounge (included with Suites) when you want a quick snack.

The property was really nice and staff was great! There are a couple of amenities like 24-hour airport shuttle that Expedia lists but the hotel does not offer as well as the pool which must be approved for use through the spa fee, but other than that it was very nice.

The Corinthia Hotel is a classic five-star property — large, elegant, and full of old-world charm. Although some of the facilities are a bit dated and could use an update, it still offers excellent value for what you pay. The concierge team is truly outstanding: attentive, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. Overall, it remains a grand hotel with a very solid value proposition.

We were very disappointed to find our room extremely hot and the temperature was controlled. We complained and were told they couldn’t change it. The only window opened to the courtyard below which is a restaurant so it was very loud and our room always smelled of food. Not very restful. We also waited all day for our room to be ready despite being told it would be ready early and very quickly.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service and very comfortable rooms. Atrium restaurant has wonderful food and great service. The lobby and common areas on first and second floors are beautiful but the rooms and general hallways are a little tired and could use "freshening". It doesn't detract from the overall beauty, comfort and quality of the hotel, just a recommendation. We did not experience the spa but wished we had.

The staff was kind and helpful and always welcoming. The only criticism I have is silly, really. The bath towels were too large. They were heavy and didn’t need to be so gigantic. That is the only thing I could say could be improved. It was clean, the staff was accommodating and very attentive and overall the hotel is just beautiful. We had room service two nights and it was lovely if I went to Budapest I would stay there again

Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Corinthia Budapest. It was more than what we had expected. The staff were helpful, discreet, and very pleasant. Our room was great, quiet - which is what is desired when going to sleep. The breakfast options were myriad and delicious. The location was perfect for us - walkable to the river, within close proximity to various restaurants and cafes. Extremely good value for money. Definately would stay with Corinthia Budapest again when back in the city.

Our first visit to Budapest and staying at Corinthia was the highlight of our trip. We received a complimentary upgrade as part of expedia's VIP programme and we received some lovely treats for my husbands birthday. The hotel staff were very friendly and really helpful. We REALLY enjoyed access to the exclusive lounge as part of our upgrade, lots of complimentary food and drink options. The spa is really beautiful and was a lovely treat after a long day exploring the city. Although, pricey I would highly recommend the breakfast - it was definitely worth it and we were sad we had to leave so early for our flight we missed our last morning of breakfast - although reception did kindly offer to provide us with some takeaway breakfast for our journey. My only non 5 star point is the local area to the hotel, we were in a room front facing and the traffic and people noise from the main road outside made it difficult to sleep both nights, it was constant and never quietened down. Although not the hotel's fault just something to bear in mind when booking - might be worth requesting a room to the back of the hotel. I would highly recommend and would love to stay here again - Thank you for a wonderful 1st experience in Budapest!
