What Guests Say About Their Stay

A heritage boutique hotel with a high level of hospitality, I stayed in an ambassador queen room, the room was quite spacious, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was quite large, the hot water was safe, the water pressure could still be increased. There was a small refrigerator in the room that worked well, not just any old one, and in the hallway on each floor there was also a water dispenser & ironing board, and if we brought luggage, there was a cute little elevator, although it moved slowly, so I only used this elevator when carrying luggage. I stayed 4 nights, on the 4th night the electricity in our room went out, they immediately helped us quickly. What I also liked about this hotel (perhaps what I liked most) was its location which was very close to the bus stop to the main areas of Georgetown, and only a 5-10 minute walk to Chowrasta Market.

The room is exactly like the picture. It's very clean and neat. The interior is very nice. Of course, the lift is very unique. Overall, it's so nice to stay here for 2 days. Free refill water and there is an iron for sharing. The facility is so good. Very near from the bus stop.

From the first day of check-in, I arrived half an hour early and the staff let me check in right away. However, they seemed to overcharge me for tax, stating it was 12 ringgit per night. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, so it should have been 24 ringgit per night, but the staff insisted on 36 ringgit. No matter how I explained it, they wanted 36 ringgit, so I paid to avoid further problems. Once I got to the room, I could understand the mold on the ceiling and walls, but the refrigerator was incredibly dirty, with dried yellow stains on the tray inside, like it had never been cleaned. I almost vomited. The bedsheets also had unknown stains. Even with the air conditioner set to the lowest temperature of 17 degrees, it wasn't cool at all. When I went to take a shower (at 3 pm), the water was extremely hot, even though I wasn't using the warm water function. It felt like I was being scalded, and I couldn't continue showering. It was probably because the water tank was exposed to the sun on the rooftop. When I tried to turn on the sink tap to brush my teeth, the drain was clogged. I called staff to come and check it. They tried to turn the tap on and off to push the blockage down, but they should have just opened it and removed the blockage. In short, it seemed to be fixed, but after the staff left, it clogged again, even though I was only using plain water. I didn't throw anything away, so I reluctantly slept there for one night (even though the air conditioning wasn't working). I woke up early, went sightseeing, and returned in the afternoon. When I opened the room, it hadn't been cleaned. The bedsheets, towels, and bath mats were still there; they hadn't been changed. For the three days and two nights I stayed, they used the same things from the first day. The room wasn't soundproof either; I could hear doors slamming constantly, and I could hear everything anyone said in the hallway. In the middle of the night, the sound of cars passing in front of the hotel was so loud it penetrated the windows. I probably won't stay there again because the only good thing about this hotel is the fast Wi-Fi.

Let's start with the good thing: the location is quite central and pretty close to the main attractions. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. On the other side, the room is not really soundproof; you can clearly hear people talking from other rooms, and the cleanliness is the worst part of this hotel. When we checked in, we found some leftover beer from previous guests that the hotel didn't even bother to clean up. Our room was quite dusty, and they didn't clean our room unless we asked them. Even when we asked them to clean, they didn't change our bedsheets/pillowcases. They didn't even bother to tidy up the bed. There was still some trash on the floor, so I doubt they vacuumed it properly. We found mold in the bathroom too. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but really, the cleanliness is something this hotel needs to step up! And the cleaning team/employees need to work properly. I'm sure the hotel used to be great in the old days, but for now, I couldn't recommend this hotel, unfortunately.

The hotel is nice, very strategic location and you could easily find good food and stores nearby. One of the recommended hotels while visiting Penang! The elevator was unique 😄 but still okay.

Good price. The front desk staff are Indian but easy to communicate with. The room is okay.

Won't even stay here even if it's free. Dusty everywhere in the room and hotel area. Smelly bathroom, stains everywhere, never brushed the floor, clogged sink. All staff are friendly and helpful, probably the management doesn't train how to properly clean the room and hotel area. Horror.

Cozy and classy industrial style decor. Parking limited but getting a meal near the hotel was easy and walkable. The towel and bed linen had hair on it even before use.

I have told the staff that we would go out that day, so please clean up our room. Until we got back at night, I was so surprised that our room was still untidy. I didn't complain because we were so tired that day. For the staff, please listen carefully to your guests. Thanks.

The location is great, but the room was terrible. The towels were very dirty, the shower was broken, the bidet was broken, and the air conditioner couldn't be adjusted. When I told the staff, they just said that's all that was working and there was nothing they could do.
