Property lacking in amenities. In the bathroom, no q tips, cotton pads / cotton balls. Tissue box empty and not replaced. Coffee pods, sugar and creamer were not replaced after using. Coffee cup and plate was put out in the hallway by housekeeping and the dishes sat there in the hallway for almost a full day.

Sadly, despite choosing this hotel to create happy memories celebrating my mum's 60th birthday, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Based on our experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel to others expecting the level of service and quality that its rating and price suggest.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. It's in the heart of the city and perfect for quick trips back to the room when we're out seeing the various sights. Everyone was lovely and we are so glad we picked this hotel.

Great location, was very walkable. There was construction on the exterior that was minority inconvenient and two of the elevators were down which made getting to our room take longer a couple of times

Great hotel and central location! Very helpful staff. Renovations, including the total carpet renovation, made getting to our room difficult due to loud construction. The breakfast is amazing.

To begin with very rude front of house staff, demanded passport - I’m Scottish and wouldn’t travel with a passport to another city in my own country and didn’t have driving licence on me as we had taken the train. Had to get husband to send a picture of my passport. Thankfully he was at home. I was also travelling to go to a concert so had no physical cards on me and this wasn’t acceptable to staff either. When got to room no lights would go on and we went and checked with front desk they told me there had to be a light slot fur card - there wasn’t and they came to the room and had to apologise for that. There were workmen on our floor and by the time we got back to room with front house manager the lights were on - they definitely weren’t when we went to front desk Bathroom very old at mould in corners and warped door with water damage Not a nice pleasant experience and even showing my booking on the hotels.com app wasn’t good enough and at one point they were refusing to check us in

A bit worn down hotel, service not quite 4-star

The hotel had a complex floor structure - with different elevators for different areas. The elevators are slow.

This place has a great location, a comfortable room, and all the amenities you need.

Everything about our stay was amazing.

Carpet a bit old and full of stains but staff were really friendly and helpful!!! Location is great!

The only downside was there was not a coffee station for guests at the hotel. You have to wait until the doors open for breakfast. There is a coffee shop nearby, but it would be more convenient for guests if coffee was provided 24/7. The new renovated rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable .. however, the walls are paper thin.

We stayed here for 2 nights and can say with complete honesty it lives up to the usual high standards associated with the Hilton brand. We ordered room service on night one which arrived in very quick time and tasted delicious everything we ordered was fresh and great quality. The beds at the Hilton are always a highlight for me with quality linens and amazingly comfortable pillows you’ll be sure to get a solid nights sleep after long hours exploring Edinburgh. Our room was ready for when we arrived at 10:30 and the staff at the desk were extremely helpful. My only foible with the room was that upon looking under our bed there was a small amount of litter from previous guests, maybe a one off due to the small amount however maybe something for the hotel to address. To conclude regardless of the small amount of litter found under the bed I would say this hotel deserves 5 stars for everything, I would highly recommend staying here and should I ever return to Edinburgh I would love to stay again.

This is a large hotel with only two unlinked elevators serving a single elevator bay, with up and down stairs on the same level, resulting in extremely long wait times. When departing, we called for luggage assistance, but after waiting 15 minutes with nobody arriving, we carried our luggage down the stairs ourselves to reach the elevators. Even then, we waited another 10 minutes before we could get into an elevator, as they consistently arrived full. The suite was very nice and clean; however, none of the USB outlets worked. Additionally, the bathroom exhaust fan and towel warmer were not functioning. We also encountered an issue with being incorrectly charged for breakfast. The hotel has an unusual setup where the Executive Lounge, which serves as the breakfast venue in the morning, does not officially open until noon. Guests with Executive Lounge access are entitled to breakfast there, but we encountered a staff member who appeared unfamiliar with the policy. Despite our request, they declined to verify it with management and insisted on charging us. The charge was later removed after we spoke with a manager, who was very apologetic and resolved the issue promptly. While the accommodations themselves were pleasant, the elevator delays, maintenance issues, and breakfast billing confusion significantly detracted from the overall experience

Check in and out was super easy and quick. The breakfast was great and convenient!

The staff were excellent, the bar staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel needs to change the policy of not changing the bedding daily, and everyone forgot to mention that the building was surrounded by scaffolding
