Great room for family of 4. Ideal location in the old town, middle of Royal Mile so 15 mins to Holyrood Palace at the bottom and Edinburgh Castle a 15 minute walk the other way. High Street was bustling in the evening with street performers and lots of places to eat out. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was fantastic, the kids enjoyed the pastries and pancakes! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great first city break as a family.

Excellent location, just a few yards off the Royal Mile. We easily took tram from airport & walked 10 minutes from St Andrews square with our luggage…lots of luggage! Delicious breakfast.

Enjoyed my stay. The location was excellent and my primary result for selecting the Hilton. The staff were very helpful. My room was nicely furnished. Bed was very comfortable. Very convenient to have a small fridge in the room which is not always so in other hotels. I also felt safe with extra fitting which would prevent someone coming in if they manage to unlock the door. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was clean but had two separate portable air fans in use! The room was very warm( it is good weather in Edinburgh), but try sleeping with two air fans on! The building is going thru renovations so scaffolding everywhere, this view was impeded( glad I wasn’t staying during weekdays as I dread to hear the noise!), and shower head was leaking! Also couldn’t get the HDMI plus to work! Then, the big issue!! No parking!! U have to go to a car park about 10 or more mins away, so if u have suitcases….oh boy, trying to drag them on the cobblestones of Edinburgh!!! The hotel do not seem to offer a shuttle service of any type! Poor thinking on there behalf. I stay at Hilton hotels globally and this is easily the worst ever, so I wouldn’t recommend it

As of May ‘26, the hotel seems to have a fair bit of construction ongoing. Room was exceptionally overly hot on an already warm day and due to scaffolding up the outside of the building, the openable windows have been permanently closed with plexi glass. This meant that there was no way to get any fresh air in the room and it became very stuffy. I assume the AC is part of the renovation as this was not operational and the controls had been covered over with a board. There was only 1 of 3 lift working during the visit which meant waiting a long time during busy periods. All the above is a shame as the location is great, the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was comfy, clean and had a lot of amenities.

I was very disappointed to see that you have revamped the entrance and reception areas since my last visit. You've taken away the wonderful sweeping staircase which led to a very open and pleasant bar area. What you've replaced it with is a downgrade to just any old entrance and bar. Neither my visiting friends or I were impressed by having 'accessible' rooms which were not needed, and in fcat my friend requested a room change.

Old hotel with very nice newly renovated rooms, was there twice during the trip; once in the executive wing where the room was huge by European norms and then in a regular room ethic wax also just fine. The only negative is the lifts (elevators) - at one point there was only one in service and even when both were running they are slow and inadequate for the amount of traffic. Plan on using the stairs.

We asked to be transferred to an accessible room because there was not a walk-in shower and the bathtub was quite high. The hotel agreed to move us. However, to get to the accessible room we had to go down one set of steps and up two more sets of steps. The room was cold and we asked for maintenance to check the temperature. A young lady came to the room and didn’t do anything different than what we did. She went and brought back a portable heater that didn’t help very much. The hotel was a disappointment and I would not recommend.

Really great property, in a perfect location. It was very much under construction when we went, with only one elevator in service, so that wasn’t ideal. I also felt like my room wasn’t perfectly clean. We found a few hairs. Staff was great to hold our bags before we could check in and after we checked out so we could still play in the city unhindered by our bags.
