Sinar Jaya Classes and Fleet

Sinar Jaya began as a small operation running 14 medium buses on the Cikarang – Pulo Gadung route in 1981. A year later, on 18 November 1982, founders Rasidin Karyana and the late Herman Rusly expanded into intercity services with ten initial units. Limited company status, as PT Sinar Jaya Megah Langgeng, was formally confirmed in 1989.

From there Sinar Jaya grew into one of the largest intercity operators on Java. Its business now spans intercity coaches, tour buses, employee shuttles and city buses, with subsidiary PT Sinar Jaya Langgeng Utama, trading as Starbus, focused on tourism and staff transport. The company is led by Teddy Kurniawan Rusli, son of one of the founders.

Sinar Jaya is also known as one of Indonesia's Suite Class sleeper pioneers, using Legacy SR2 bodywork by Laksana on Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 chassis. Alongside Mercedes-Benz, its fleet has historically used Hino chassis and, for selected premium services, the Scania K series.
