With its legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, known as the king of Vietnam passes, standing tall at the altitude of 1500 m, its pine forests, granite peaks and limestone mountains covered with evergreen mosses, Ha Giang is simply spectacular. Yet there are moments when Ha Giang is extremely tender. It is when October rolls around and dyes the mountains dazzling shades of white, purple, and pink with buckwheat flowers. It is when the town of Dong Van goes quiet, and the world suddenly seems asleep. The best time to see Ha Giang at its finest is between October and December.
