Most of Ifrane's attractions are concentrated in its downtown area, while the rest of the city is primarily residential. Unlike the maze-like streets found in other Moroccan cities, Ifrane's streets are worth exploring for their unique architecture, particularly the houses with steeply pitched roofs. The central square is surrounded by several hotels, restaurants, and a tourist information center. At the southern end of the city, you'll find a Royal Palace with a perimeter of approximately 3 kilometers. While it cannot be visited, it's known to be King Mohammed IV's favorite vacation spot, where he spends part of his summer and winter skiing holidays. The most remarkable aspect of downtown Ifrane is its stunning gardens, which are lush and well-maintained, likely due to the favorable climate. Parc La Prairie, which borders the palace, features a beautiful artificial lake. Further west, you'll find the larger Mohammed V Gardens. At the entrance, a carved stone sculpture of the Atlas Lion, a now-extinct big cat that once roamed the area, serves as the city's emblem. The sculpture is a popular photo spot for both locals and visitors, though the identity of the sculptor remains a mystery.

Dayet Aoua, located about 15 km (10 miles) from Ifrane, is one of the most stunning lakes in the Middle Atlas. The lake is surrounded by a meadow and a forest with a variety of tree species, making it an ideal spot for hiking on its many trails. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy the rich wildlife here, including wild ducks, eagles, kites, woodpeckers, herons, and even turtles. Visitors often rent boats, bicycles, horses, or even donkeys to explore the area. There are also picnic spots and opportunities for swimming. Dayet Aoua is the largest lake in the region, but not the only one. A 100-mile (65 km) route, known as the Dayets (Lakes) Route, begins at Dayet Aoua and ends about 10 miles (7 km) south of Ifrane. From Ifrane, you can take a two- or three-hour hike to the Vittel Spring, which is surrounded by a forest of maple and poplar trees, and the Cascades des Vierges. This marked pedestrian trail, about 3 km (2 miles) long, follows the banks of the Tizguit River and is suitable for walking or cycling. Along the way, you can also explore caves that were reportedly inhabited during the Neolithic era. In the summer, horseback riding is available in this area.
