Using public transportation can make it easier for you to get access anywhere. If you choose to use the underground you can take the U4 to Kettenbrückengasse, or you can also take the U1, U2 or U4 to Karlsplatz and walk a short distance to the Naschmarkt. If you use the tram, you can use tram number 1 or 62 to Resselgasse and walk across to the Naschmarkt market. You can also take bus number 59A to Bärenmühldurchgang or Preßgasse.
There is a lot going on at Naschmarkt, especially on Saturdays, also due to the weekly flea market. The colorful crowds are worth seeing, even if you don't want to buy anything. The most fun thing to do here besides shopping is sitting outdoors at the Naschmarkt in the summer, eating, drinking and watching people go about their business.
The market is open every day of the week except Sunday. The stall selling food opens every morning at 6 am as people come here to buy something to cook their breakfast with. They don't close until around 7:30 pm Monday to Friday, but close earlier on Saturdays around 5 pm.
Vienna has many permanent markets, but the Naschmarkt is considered the largest and most famous. It was even featured in Amazon's romcom, Sachertorte. This is the place for pepino and papaya, kiwi and kiwano.
Although most vendors at Naschmarkt accept credit cards, we recommend bringing cash for small vendors, simple purchases, and items that can be found at flea markets.
