Valley of Fire State Park is the first state park in Nevada. It was formed by several natural events, including erosion and faulting. There are many interesting things that make this place worth visiting, especially if you are interested in nature tourism. One of them is a rock formation made of iron oxide, combined with silica and manganese, which gives it the appearance of a flame at sunset. Scientists believe the area was inhabited by humans 11,000 years ago. This is evident from the petroglyphs or rock engravings found on the rocks at Valley of Fire State Park. The Anasazi (ancestors of the Pueblo tribe) are said to be the humans who used the valley as a spiritual center. The Paiute followed, and early Mormon settlers began farming and ranching in Moapa Valley in 1865.

Valley of Fire State Park spans 40,000 acres, offering scenery and a variety of nature activities. Here, there are 3,000-year-old petroglyphs, rock formations eroded from 150-million-year-old sand dunes. You can also find 7 red rocks high in the desert called the 'Seven Brothers'. Hiking in the desert, especially at Valley of Fire State Park, can make you feel like you're on the moon. The trails traverse smooth slickrock and sometimes the only navigational tools you have are liquid rocks posted by the rangers. Some of the best hiking trails of this place are the Fire Wave Trail, Petroglyph Canyon, World's Peak Arch Trail, and White Dome. Valley of Fire State Park has camping grounds in 72 locations, including some suitable for RVs with electricity and water connections. All sites have shaded picnic tables, grills, and water access, as well as restrooms and showers available on site. There are three group campsites, each with a capacity of up to 45 people. The easiest way to get to Valley of Fire from Las Vegas is to drive north on I-15 and enter the park from the west.
