Hanoi, 16 November 2022 - Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s travel and lifestyle platform, is actively partnering with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to accelerate digital transformation in the tourism sector to elevate tourists’ experience. As a technology-based company, Traveloka is cementing its commitment to support the government and partners toward digital transformation and sustainable growth in the tourism sector.

Traveloka organized a Roundtable Discussion with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Provincial Departments of Tourism, and tourism service providers and took place in Hanoi. The forum is established to discover new ways to strengthen the collaboration among the stakeholders and how to contribute more to achieve the common goal, which is developing a smart and sustainable tourism ecosystem in Vietnam. The common goal is aligned with Vietnam’s tourism development strategy set forth by the government.

Speaking on the Roundtable, Dr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, shared, “The collaboration with technology platforms and tourism business sectors will bolster our effort to quickly adapt and take advantage of digital transformation effectively. I am hopeful that today’s discussion will spark more joint effort from the stakeholders to continue formulating solutions to help develop tourism towards a sustainable direction, and make the tourism industry one of the strongest economic sectors in Vietnam.”

Ms. Huynh Thi Mai Thy, Country Manager of Traveloka Vietnam, expressed the desire to dedicate Traveloka's efforts and technology to assisting the government and stakeholders in this mission. “With the strong rebound of tourism in recent months, it is crucial for Vietnam tourism to take steps toward digital transformation by embracing touchless and smart tourism in Vietnam. Therefore, we keep making innovations that can create other initiatives and breakthrough programs that will boost the digitalization in the travel industry,” said Ms. Huynh Thi Mai Thy.

Traveloka encourages the stakeholders to work together and ensure a sustainable growth of local tourism. Digital transformation is more than just a temporary solution for the pandemic disruption, but is also a long-term journey for the whole tourism sector to develop sustainably.

Traveloka demonstrates its commitment towards digital transformation and tourism revival in Vietnam by forming strategic partnerships with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Da Nang Center for Tourism Promotion, Tourism, Commerce, Investment Promotion Center of Kien Giang Province (KITRA), and Hai Phong City Tourism Board to promote local destinations and enhance tourists’ travel experience. With responsive initiatives to assist tourism during COVID-19 and navigate the industry recovery afterward, Traveloka is making a firm statement in taking conjoint responsibility with the government and partners in sustainable tourism development.
