Nice hotel in a cool area and lovely and helpful staff! I like that Lyf promotes sustainability with shared spaces etc. Cafe next door, South of Johnston, with a fireplace was fantastic. However, the hotel was not very quiet. Rooms - yes I asked to change to another one but that wasn't much better - let all the noise from the streets in and water pipes were noisy as well. I guess for sound sleepers and people staying up late this is not an issue. Bed was super comfy though but I was not a fan of the bed "frame" design, bed was awkward to get in to as it was on a weird platform.

Great staff, they were the excellent at every juncture with every question and request. Five start staff Unfortunately the single sided bed access and average bed lost a star from me.

The room was quite small but the bed was really comfortable and the space was clean. I really enjoyed the on site laundry, it's super convenient and quick, no need for detergent, cash, etc, just put your clothes in and scan. The location is a 10min walk to Fitzroy Gardens and it's an amazing park. Groceries and cafes are also within a 10 minute walking radius. Bars and clubs are two streets down but the area is super quiet, you won't hear the noise. Overall, it's cute for solo travellers who want to explore Melbourne.

This place is like my second home. The staff and are facilities are so great I just have to keep coming back.

Didn’t love the bed right up against the window on an elevated platform was kind of clumsy to get in and out of it. Without Blockout blinds there was a fair bit of light getting into the room, to alter the blinds You need to walk over the bed. No top sheet provided and the mattress was not terribly comfortable he was kind of soft around the edges. The shared amenity concept is not a bad idea. I thought the room seemed particularly sparse. Perhaps I’m not collingwood cool enough to appreciate the room design but it felt like it was fairly pricey for what I would consider a super basic room. The bed was meant to be a queen bed. I would swear it was a double but I didn’t measure it. The room key provided a QR code where you could go keyless. It requires you to download an app and it was not immediately obvious or a parent how to actually link that to your room key so I didn’t follow through. That process has been seamless in many other hotels for me. The location is good.

Perfect set up for working in and just what I needed. Comfy and cosy room with amazingly friendly staff. Parking my car was pefect too. LYF - Loved it.

10/10 For a quick convenient overnight stay - perfect! Staff very relaxed and welcoming. Reminded us of the ZED in London. Would def use again.

Very good, private when needed and lots of social spaces.

Lovely stay, convenient, cost efficient, welcoming. The only 2 things that bothered me a little was the large ledge beside the bed made it a little more challenging to get in and out of bed and there was no PowerPoint in the bathroom (but it would be understandable if it was a safety concern with shower steam) But overall we loved it and have booked again to come back.
