Mortdale Hotel is an older property that has been renovated in the recent past.
It appears the hotel is a secondary business. The desk is the bar on the main floor, not a problem. They were helpful and efficient checking us in.
The commuter train runs by the hotel but the trains are quite quiet. I didn’t hear the trains unless I was awake. Excepting the train the neighbourhood was quiet.
The air conditioning was great. Temps were cool so we used the unit to keep the air dry most of the time.
We were out and about so we didn’t use the sports bar.

PRICE, LOCATION, OUR ROOM, TYPE OF HOTEL SUITED MY WIFE AND MYSELF. MY DAUGHTER AND MY GRAND DAUGHTER'S ROOM WAS EVEN BETTER. MY SON HIS ROOM WAS AJACESENT TO THE RAILWAY LINE SO THAT WAS A NEGATIVE. OVERALL WE ALL LIKED WHERE WE STAYED AND WE WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel has a small lift and staircase, along with an all-hour side access door using a key code. Entry to the room is also key coded. Theres a cupboard, iron, hair dryer, bar fridge and kettle in the room. There’s also food and drinks downstairs which are reasonably priced.
The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, despite the blockout curtains, the light from billboards and train station still shine into the room. You can also hear faint sound from the train and foot traffic. This could be a problem if you are a light sleeper or need a dark room to sleep.

Solid stay all round. Nothing fancy but exceeded expectations.
Bed was soft and pillows good.
Shower and bathroom was spacious, recently renovated, good pressure in shower and hot water was good.
Check in was efficient, keypad doors worked fine.
TV modern and large, built in usb chargers both types.
Had dinner and drinks at the sports bar, getting past the smoke smell, everything was tidy, new and the food reasonably priced and tasty!
Was a little loud with the train and from the bar.
Altogther a great overnight spot.

A cheerful pub stay which has been nicely renovated without losing it's character. Clean room, comfortable bed and nice bathrooms. Fab Italian restaurant across road plus supermarkets, train station and parking all at your doorstep. A special shout out to Yash who helped accommodate some last minute requests.

The area where the hotel is so nice and quiet. The hotel is great. The manager is super nice. Ur supposed to check in at 3. I came early and asked for an early check-in. He did it right away and let me check in. I'm supposed to only stay for 4 days, end up staying my whole trip. If i ever come back to Sydney. I definitely stay here again.
