Beautiful hotel, lovely staff everywhere. The view overlooking the opera house is fantastic. The only thing that needs looking at is the breakfast it's ok but for 5* it should be better coffee area is defo not 5* and the food is a little tasteless . I stayed at Jen by shangri la in singapore and that is far superior at the breakfast buffet .

This property is nothing short of spectacular. We spent extra to stay in one of their Grand Premier rooms and it could not have been nicer. The room was spacious, super clean and in pristine condition. The view from the room was nothing short of amazing, certainly the best hotel room view in Sydney. The best thing about the property is the location. 5 minute walk to the light rail, 10 minutes walk to the harbor to access the ferries and the main cruise dock and 10 minute walk to the train station for an easy trip to the airport. The property is located at “The Rocks” which has many delightful restaurants and shops. This property excels is every way I can imagine.

I don't enjoy the climb up the hill to the hotel at the end of everyday. But the rooms are unmatched in quality, bedding, mattresses etc. Reception staff can be a bit formal and process adherent. Other Shangri la locations are friendlier in my experience.

The Altitude Restaurant was awful from the way you were treated at reception, The poor running of the restaurant. The limited overpriced menu. We were in a club room on 32nd floor which was good. The staff and service in the Horizon Club was great. We would not use or recommend the Altitude Restaurant as it was very poor in every respect and not what you would expect in a Shangri-La hotel.

thought the rooms were outdated than the picture. They gave us a 2 beds instead of a king bed and said the room will be upgraded, but didn't feel that and the floor was on the 8th floor. Probably the view is better on the higher floors. The cleaning was great and the towels were soft and comfortable.

The view was unsurpassed , but you only get what you pay for. Rooms are starting to look a little dated and lacking adequate charging ports. Front desk staff were unable to explain charges ion our bill that did not belong there and after three separate conversations to attempt to rectify and pay our bill I was assured someone would call me prior to charging, this did not happen. We checked out on the 15 jan, today is 27 Feb and another charge has come through- In total four seperate charges from the shangri-la have appeared on my card. I do not know what is going on in accounts and I don’t think they do either. I’m putting my card on hold now, so if they want to charge me they will actually have to make contact . This is enough for me to return to the Four Seasons next time, where my daughter was actually supplied with a bed, robe and milk and cookies on arrival - all touches lacking at shangri-la. Service in blu bar was also non existent, not just to us but also the surrounding tables.

Sure! Here’s a review based on your experience: I had an exceptional stay at Shangri-La Sydney! The service was top-notch, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House were stunning. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the dining experience was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a luxurious and comfortable stay! However, everything was going as planned until the hotel staff ruined my wife’s birthday surprise. I ordered a birthday cake and specifically requested the hotel staff to bring it at midnight, even writing the instruction in the special instructions section while ordering. Unfortunately, they brought the cake 30-40 minutes before the requested time, which was very disappointing after all the efforts I have been putting in throughout the day to surprise her. It ended up being quite upsetting for both of us. Overall, while the stay was wonderful, this mishap took away from an otherwise perfect experience.

Fantastic service and accommodations for a 5 night stay. Perfect location for access to The Rocks attractions and public transportation. Very walkable. Won’t even look for another option when we return.
