Old and charming hotel in a great location. All the small things you’d hope for like a kettle with coffee and tea selections, iron and boards, hair dryer and toiletries. Importantly for me, air-conditioning was controllable and effective for the temperatures we experienced. I would definitely stay again.

Great location to Circular Quay station and very helpful staff. The old boy is showing her age in nooks and crankys but the bed was comfortable and the wi-fi worked well. Good breakfast buffet

Our room was a good size. The toilet was in a separate room off the large bathroom which had a separate bath and shower recess and double wash basin.. The reception/ foyer , dining area and indeed the whole hotel, felt warm and was welcoming with its antique furniture and paintings. The hotel is within walking distance to Circular Quay, the opera house and The Rocks area.

Great location , 100m from circular quay , which we could see from our window thank you for giving me my request of a high floor . The hotel as a very unique English character and Charm - Swim pool are was lovely and relaxing, water was warm !!

The Sir Stamford is like stepping back into the gilded age! Ornate oils on the wall, rich furnishings and gilded mirrors. Lovely atmosphere, marble bathrooms are beautiful ( although perhaps the hand held shower could be improved- the bracket would not hold the nozzle in place). Staff were friendly and professional.

Great location, spacious room, luxurious bathroom, somewhat quirky old-world vibe. Comfortable, clean, and generally good amenities. As others have said, starting to show a bit of wear and tear (some may regard as adding to the old-world vibe). Some slight annoyances, such as having to get under desks or behind nightstands to access outlets for phone and device charging - in 2025 those things should be more readily accessible. Very clean on the surface, but while hunting around for power points you may find a bit of accumulated dust build up in out of the way places. At the right price I would definitely stay again.

We arrived late and got upgraded to a suite, which was a nice surprise. The room is in need of a refresh. New paint, carpet would make a great difference. The bathroom, however, was fabulous. Very modern and great amenities. The breakfast was great, excellent choices. Service was wonderful, staff was amazing.
