The Russell is a quaint hotel befitting the Rocks. We had a lovely room that opened on to an enclosed courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The discount at the Fortune of War bistro was welcome. It is an easy walk from the car park. If you like antique Cedar furniture you will be very happy here.

Lovely old building and a very nice room with stairs leading down to it and some nice antique furniture. Very nice buffet breakfast. Only complaint was a musty/mouldy smell in the bathroom; it was very clean though

The most outstanding thing about the Russell Hotel is the location. The Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay with the transport links (train, tram and ferry) are all within walking distance. The Hop-On-Hop-Off tour bus (red line) starts literally over the road and the 'Rocks' weekend market (fabulous) was a few minutes walk away.
The only thing I would have liked to see was a room safe.
