Best Western Plus Chocolate Lake Hotel

Only one elevator functional. Only one spot for disabled parking.

Pretty standard rooms - they were very clean, as was the hotel itself. Room had a fridge and microwave. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast included - sign states it gets busy in the later morning. We went around 7:30, it's not too crowded and staff were attentive and kept everything available. Small bar area. I didn't eat in the restaurant - but food is served in the latter part of the day. There is a deck area with seating accessible through the bar/restaurant offering a beautiful view of Chocolate Lake. Half of the hotel rooms are lake facing. I'd recommend requesting. Walk to the harbor area is takes about an hour. Ubers were readily availalbe and cost around $14 to the closer harbor area. Didn't use - but there's also a gym which looked decent for a hotel of that size, a pool and a games room. Only negative comment is that one elevator wasn't working so the wait for the one working could take some time. It was a minor inconvenience. No hesitation in recommending.

Location was Great! The free breakfast was one of the best we’ve had!! All was clean and beautiful views from the hotel to the lake!

Only stayed one night, descent room, comfortable bed, not far from downtown Halifax within decent driving distance, quiet area.

The staff were great, the bed was very comfortable and clean and the room was pretty good. The bathroom could use better cleaning - cobwebs in the corners and there was a half used bar of soap in the shower, which was pretty gross. Otherwise it was fairly clean. The real draw to this hotel though is the waterfront. It's right on a lake with beautiful chairs overlooking the lake, picnic tables and a pergola. The restaurant overlooks the lake and there isn't a more beautiful place in the world to eat breakfast or drink morning coffee. The breakfast was great.

The hotel was similar to.many built a few decades ago. Modern, could use a few more outlets in rooms, clean, average breakfast, and most major amenities. Really liked yhe coffee maker in the lobby-had my daily cappuccino! Overall a positive experience.

Lovely to be by the lake and feel like being in the country in the middle of a busy city - Halifax.

It was located on a lake with lots of outside sitting areas, the food was excellent along with the staff.

Our stay was fine. One of the two elevators was down the entire week but that was only an issue during checkout. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good, the staff are very polite. Great view of the lake. Convenient location to many areas of the HRM.
