Sunset Motel

The room was dirty and in urgent need of repairs. All cosmetic but dirty because of uncleanable surfaces. Bed was comfy. Kitchen was okay, but lacking a few utensils like a frying pan lifter, etc.

Only 1 night stay. Did not use either.

Motel was close to the Hospital and great for a 3 day stay with a living room, full kitchen and separate bedroom. Quick check in and spacious room but it needs some serious cleaning( the microwave and some walls wiped down would be great) and updating. The beds were comfortable and we would return as it was a great price.

This was one of the most disgusting places that we had ever stepped foot in. When you walked in you were slapped with a smell of age, musk, and stale cigarette smoke. Although the bedding seemed clean, the carpets were not… At all. this place was so disgusting that we decided to shower with flip-flops on… Which didn’t actually help because the drains were plugged and all of the shower water just came up over our feet anyway. We spent our entire evening looking at other accommodations for the following night and ended up checking out the following day. I recommend just paying the extra $50 to stay in the hotel down the street.

For the price? It's a bargain. I booked a standard room but in fact it had a fully equiped kitchen, living area with sofa and 42" flat screen tv, separate bedroom with tv. We booked extra nights.

Very much a trip back to the 70s, kind staff, and large suits but it definitely needs better cleaning services or a more regular deep cleaning. We didn't get lice or bedbugs lol so at that price a win is a win. All in all, If you're not too snotty or prissy and can't afford the $300+ per night else where this does just fine... Maybe bring your own pillow cases just to make yourself feel a bit better. :p

Bad Location, not safe and dirty

The man who checked us in was very friendly helped us with checking in and was very kind. Assisted us. The suite was good. We had a kitchenette, bathroom, living room with all the pots/pans, dishes. We bought paper towels, regular size soap and shampoo as we were there for 10 days. We swapped out the towels for more new clean ones after a few days. We had everything we needed. If your looking for a squeeky clean, new updated place this is not your stay. The beds and linens were clean but the motel room is older. If your looking for a quick and easy room for cheap this is the spot ..we traveled to nanaimo, ladysmith, tofino easily and its in a great spot near restaurants gas stations, tims, save on foods. It did the job for 10 days. The motel is attached to a trailer park which is fine, but be aware of your surroundings at night as there is some colorful charachters at night in the area. I would stay here again.

Very old hotel. Relatively clean. But it felt gross.

I liked the free Wi-Fi, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the location was good but the kitchen and bathroom were dirty. Soap scum in the shower, the shower curtain smelled, the microwave and kitchen floor were dirty and the fridge had a weird smell. I'm okay with old as long as it's clean but we won't be back.

If you have allergies this musty old dump hole is not for you.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The property appears outdated, with conditions reminiscent of a facility from the 1930s, and there was a complete absence of staff on-site to provide assistance or ensure guest safety. The overall atmosphere felt unsafe, uncomfortable, and unsettling, which made it difficult to relax or enjoy the stay. The lack of security measures, poor upkeep, and unwelcoming environment made this the most negative experience of my entire trip. Based on my stay, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone.

Strong unpleasant odour , could not sleep in this room .

So dirty and smelly. The place just reeked of bleach. Hair all over tub and shower. Beds were not made and comforters were just sort of spread out on the bed. Should have spent the extra money and stayed somewhere else.
