Shanghai JOYFUL YARD Hotel

Clean room good, people on reception: there was a guy (big guy, he very rude and didnt even try to help), but the girl was really nice. Need to replace the guy.

A highly functional hotel offering fantastic value. The breakfast features high-quality Chinese dishes, though vegetarian options are quite limited. The biggest bonus is the highly convenient 24-hour shuttle coach that departs every hour, all day and night. The room was clean and some have been recently renovated. The staff are polite and speak a good level of English considering the value offered by this hotel.

Clean room, friendly staff and environment.

Great hotel for transit. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, wonderful shower pressure, and it was great having so many food options walking distance near by. The only negative was that the walls were paper thin & we could hear people arriving late at night and talking on the phone for long periods of time.

The shuttle bus was a good plus to our stay.

Great hotel

I would not stay here again. During our stay, my child developed multiple itchy bites and facial swelling that required a visit to a doctor. The doctor diagnosed it as an allergic reaction consistent with insect bites. We provided the hotel with photos and medical documentation and reported the issue immediately. What disappointed us most was the hotel’s response. We were told that the investigation would be delayed because it was the weekend, and after waiting two days, the hotel concluded that there was no direct evidence linking the room to the incident. As a result, no action or compensation was offered. I understand that proving the exact source of insect bites can be difficult. However, when a guest presents medical documentation involving a child’s health, I would expect a more proactive and customer-focused response. Instead, I felt our concerns were dismissed. The location may be convenient, but cleanliness, guest safety, and customer service are far more important. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to families traveling with children.

Rooms were nice and had a good shower. Check in could have been smoother with a little more information given. Nice to have free shuttle to and from airport. Soundproofing wasn’t the greatest, with hearing people next door talking. Overall, not bad for a night or two for flights out of Shanghai.

I liked that the location was by places, KFC is less than a 5 minute walk.

Good value for money. 30 mins away from the airport. Good place if u just need to sleep there for one night.

Very clean property with free airport shuttle although not super convenient as it’s once per hour. We just missed the pick up and didn’t want to wait a whole hour for a 10 minute taxi ride. Good breakfast and accommodating staff.
