My stay at Swissôtel Grand Shanghai was average overall. The hotel feels quite old and could benefit from renovation. The auto touch lighting system in the room was not very user-friendly. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner bottles should also be replaced with better pump bottles, as the current pumps were very hard to press and the liquid was difficult to come out.
The air-conditioning also did not seem to be well maintained, as there was noticeable noise when it was set to auto mode. The main plus point of the hotel is its convenient location, surrounded by many shopping centres and amenities.

Very clean rooms. You can have breakfast for a fee. Nice lobby. A lot of malls in the area. There's a mini mart across the street.

Room clean. Staff courtesy. Checkout breakfast but didn’t eat in restaurant, few basic items yet expensive .
Room not ready until after 4pm?. Only 2 front desk agents work hard at front desk with many guests waiting to pickup room keys or checkin.
Small area for Taxis come in hotel on both directions . Too many bicycles parked around the hotel walkway making very difficult to walk the street outside hotel to the malls.

Great location on Line 2 Metro so easy access to most Shanghai areas. Amazingly copious fresh abundant choice breakfast buffet. Use Papago app for translation as English speaking staff is not generally available. Book well in advance for good rate.

The AC was set to a floor temperature 21.5C so quite stuffy, not adjustable to a lower level if you sleep better in a colder room. Fortunately there were windows that could be opened. The room was clean and a very good size. The location is good. The western food menu is large but the quality was very poor. The pizza was awful and the chicken used across dishes. Check in and out was very quick.
