Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, Gourmet All Inclusive by Karisma

Disappointed with the Experience Despite the Magic of a First Birthday!!! We recently stayed at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana by Karisma to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday. While the excitement of being at a themed resort and seeing her smile was priceless, the overall experience left us disappointed, especially given our expectations and the premium branding of the resort. Our first day went smoothly and brought a lot of joy—seeing the characters and enjoying the themed environment was exactly what we hoped for. Unfortunately, the experience quickly declined after that. Soon after arriving, we were approached about attending a presentation that was clearly positioned as a way to receive "free" character breakfast tickets. However, the presentation was essentially a timeshare pitch, although they went out of their way not to call it that. This left a bad taste, especially since we were there to celebrate a milestone, not sit through sales tactics. Additionally, many of the services and experiences that we assumed were part of our stay—like character breakfasts and show access—came with extra fees that were never disclosed at booking. We were shocked to learn that unless you enroll in their "members club" (which is basically a timeshare), you end up paying significantly more for experiences that should be standard at a resort built around children and themed entertainment. I found it difficult to make dinner reservations especially because we were a bigger group. With that being said, there were some amazing bartenders/waiters including Luis, Octavio, Francisco and Miguel.

Dirty rooms. Not much for kids even though it was a kids resort. Food was awful. You had to pay extra for a lot of stuff after all the money spent booking the resort. Will never return.

Property is overpriced & the food is horrible!!! This resort is not worth the money!!!

Not clean too expensive and you dont even see the main character unless you pay to see them. Food is horrible. The toilet around the buffet are broken. Never again will money for this hotel. The staffs most of them are rude and looked annoy when you called them.

Always a good time with the kids! Staff are amazing. Clean, safe. we love it here!

Positives - Aqua Nick Water Area – Enjoyable and well-maintained. Good size and shallow, perfect for kids. - Character Breakfast – A fun experience (though charged separately) with different characters - Decent Dining Options– A reasonable number of restaurants. - Staff Helpfulness – Exceptional service, especially from chefs who accommodated our dietary needs well. - Resort Cleanliness – Maintained well in most areas. - Room Quality & Amenities – rooms were spacious, balcony was nice. Provided bottle sterilizer and warmer. Negatives - Additional Charges – Fees for things like character breakfast (almost $90/pp) , cotton candies, in-house video games, etc., feel excessive considering the high all-inclusive price. - Limited Vegetarian Options – not enough choices, although chefs will work with you on your dietary needs. - Limited Fruits – Not enough variety, especially for a tropical destination. - Closed Areas – Some resort sections were unavailable with no clear explanation or reopening timeline. - Dessert Variety– Could benefit from more options, like chocolate bars. - Some Night Show Performances – Certain dancers wore revealing outfits, which seemed out of place for a kids' place. Overall Impression The resort has enjoyable elements, particularly its water park and helpful staff. However, hidden costs, limited food options, and closed areas impact the experience. Overall resort experience does not strongly justify high prices.

Would not be going back to Nickelodeon resort again. Worse experience ever,

The hotel and resort was clean

I usually don’t write reviews but I have to share my experience with this one. Short and sweet, the hotel had no hot water the entire time we were at the resort. They downplayed it the first day to keep everyone calm but we never had hot water for 7 days. 2 kids under 5 screaming in tears traumatized from the ice cold bath everyday. We paid $7k for a vacation, we expect hot water and everything to be perfect for that price. I called the hotel and they said they gave me a free character breakfast (valued at $40). BIG DEAL. I will never stay at one of their resorts again. I would also say they didn’t wash any of the cups with soap from the pool bars. Just a lightning quick rinse… disgusting. I know if I stayed anywhere else, they would do the right thing to make it right for having spent so much to stay there and receive less than satisfactory accommodations.

We were in the resort for 5 nights. We love that there are daily activities available for kids. The resort is big and very convenient. They have multiple pools available in the resort, private beach, baby pool, and water park. We love that there are many different options available for the kids and adults.

amazing stuff and resort

The resort was super well-organized. I enjoyed every minute while there! There was an abundance of food and food options and yummy drinks for kids and adults. Having the option to go to the beach daily or the water park was also a huge plus. The whole atmosphere was peaceful, calm, quiet, and each staff member seemed to work hard to make our experience pleasant. Treat yourself by going to Vassa Spa. Ask for Emiledys. Thanks for an awesome stay Nickelodeon. We shall return!

FOOOD WAS HORRIBLE

Beautiful property with a lot of activities for young kids. Everything was clean. The pool and beach area was so convenient and very large. It never felt overcrowded. The water park was so much fun. Rooms were nice. We had a pool attached to the room and it was a great option. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. My son got sick (asthma) during our stay and guest services ordered medicine from a nearby pharmacy which helped my son tremendously. Overall service was great. My only complaint (and the only reason I gave this 4 stars) was the food. The ice cream shop was great. The restaurants that required reservations were all booked. We managed to get a reservation one night but the food wasn’t great. we mostly ate at the buffet, which wasn’t great either. Some nights better than others. The lunch options weren’t the best. Overall the food could use improvement, but everything else was great. We really enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave.

We loved our stay here. Lots of food options. You have to book dinner on a QR code starting at 9am for each day. Beach was rough but beautiful. Pools were great. Waterpark was nice. Do the character dinners. I think those were the best part. We never were able to get a golf cart ride anywhere. Not a lot to do late at night. We had a great room and experience.

The food provided was excellent at the Buffet, although it is difficult to book an à la cart You have to literally be signed in at 9 AM when it opens in order to get to one. The staff were very friendly, but it took them too long to bus tables which caused a backlog and frequently you did not receive your drink until you were pretty much done your meal. I do not think this is the fault of the staff. I think it is due to needing a few more staff. They were all working very hard. The drink options were great although I tried to order wine one night at another cart, and both bottles I ordered were out of stock, so I just stuck with the house white which I have to say is probably the best I’ve ever had at any Dominican resort anyways The Beach pool and splash pad, lacked shaded areas and seating, although it could be purchased at an additional exorbitant cost, which seemed to change. Housekeeping kept the rooms very clean, although they did not refill The mini fridge daily. We enjoyed the bar next to the Buffay in the evening the children loved the games, although again, some of them are at an additional cost. Of course we got slimed but again at an additional cost as many things were. They do a big “sliming” at the splash pad but sadly adults were pushing their way through in front of children to participate. I suggest the resort encourage that it’s “for the children” We loved the cafe/ice cream bar. Such a great and fun idea to have this on the resor

We just loves this place. It was a dream come true. Just to hear my wife say: "this is the happiest day of my life" while walking by the beach and my girls enjoying around was the living proof that this hotel is the best we have ever been to. We are definitely coming back! Thank you!!
