only a one night stay but really friendly staff, excellent size standard bedroom, comfy as well. Evening meals were excellent and well presented. Buffet breakfast was usual hotel fayre but there was plenty of choice and we particularly liked the Danish pastries, let down slightly by cold plates and only one hot drink machine

We paid extra and had the breakfast in the morning, we ate in the conservatory area and the views were stunning. The room was clean and the bathroom was a little small but the shower was really large and fully accessible. The staff were really friendly, great customer service 🙂

Reception very helpful and immediately changed me to a ground floor room when asked. (I’m on crutches).
Room Clean but seemed a little tired, ready for a refurb. Surprised there are no usb charging sockets.
Very peaceful location and plenty of parking.

3 star type property. Location was the selling point for us. We had two different rooms. If I based this review on the first one it would be less than favorable as the room was unbearably hot. The second room we had was much nicer and temperate.

I have stayed here a few times now and I really like it. Usually staff are very polite and friendly but when I checked in last night the woman behind the desk literally ignored me for 3 minutes! She was working on something which I understand but a quick - I will be with you inn a minute would have done but nothing, not even eye contact. When she did manage to speak, no apology and said can you speak to one of the others, is there a man around the corner!! Disgraceful. A young chap eventually checked me in and he was very good but as for the woman…I’m not sure a customer facing role is for you.

Bathroom is outdated and had mold on the bath sealant and limescale on the taps. The shower water flow was poor and the temperate as warm on Sunday morning, but hot when using the bath the night before.

Dirty, mouldy, tatty, falling apart, violently hot, staff don’t care. Genuinely the worst room I have ever stayed in. When I asked about the heat I was told there was a fan. I rarely complain but this was not good.

The hotel initially impressed - check in was good, the room was spacious, warm, well-furnished. But when my husband tried to have a hot bath to help with the discomfort after a recent knee replacement, the hot tap in the bath dispensed tepid water, quite inadequate for a bath,although the water in the washbasin was very hot.
The following morning the lavatory refused to flush for what seemed like a long time, the bath water was ok for a shower, but there was no cold water from the bath tap. Clearly the plumbing needs attention.

The property itself needs a huge facelift as the rooms being very small, looked old and beaten up. The entire property is in need of renovation to give it a fresh look.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and very attentive.
The location of this hotel is Amazing, being situated on top of overton hill overlooking the merseyside and Liverpool Airport. The hotel is surrounded with rolling hills with a golf course and multiple ranches with beautiful horses.
The cleanliness in and around the property also needs improvement.

Hotels.com’s fault but there is a surcharge for using the pool and facilities; £5 each per person, per day. We were aggrieved as we chose this location for those reasons but were reluctant to fork out more after paying for a tired, not overly clean, not great condition, staff not enthusiastic about being there hotel. 🙄

Charges to use the leisure facility/pool implemented from Jan this year. Price is per day so if you want to use it the evening and morning of your stay your paying twice. For our family of four it was going to cost £32. Nearly half the price of the stay. This charge wasn't mentioned pre booking. The hotel blames Hotels.com for not updating it and Hotels.com blamed the hotel. Room was ok but sofa bed was filthy therefore we couldn't use it, also no bedding provided for it. Staff friendly and hotel communal areas were well presented.
