The Crooklands, BW Signature Collection

Lovely 2 night stay. Food was lovely and staff very helpful. Very busy on Second night and had to eat in the bar even though I had booked restaurant weeks ago, but otherwise couldn’t fault it.

Nice hotel ticked all the boxes but no frills. The room and hotel looked. Little tired. Wi-Fi was poor but not really a deal breaker for us.

Friendly and polite staff from reception to bar/restaurant to housekeeping. Beautiful decor giving all public areas a sense of comfortable style and an upmarket but ´ at home ´ feeling. Rooms were spacious enough and bathrooms clean and well maintained. The only tiny niggle was the dinner menu which wasn’t hugely inspiring (mainly in the starter area) and also the pie which, although filling was absolutely delicious, was not encased in pastry but also the pastry topper was bit stodgy and not flaky puff pastry. As I say a tiny thing but when coming up North from London you look forward to an excellent pie. The other mains were excellent and all were piping hot. Breakfast was also fine, nicely cooked full breakfast and lots of choice for cereals, yogurt and toast, although didn’t see any croissants, as was on the menu. We visited as a large family group, overall a wonderful stay and all have said we would stay here again. Thanks Crooklands.

Phone not working in room so couldn’t order room service. Asked for a gluten free meal but wasn’t convinced the Yorkshire puddings were gluten free and couldn’t clarify as phone not working. Room quite cold. Service at breakfast was very slow

We have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions and had a lovely stay again. A little hiccup with dinner but this was rectified promptly & efficiently.

Always comfortable friendly good value amazing food

The hotel is fine and the location suited us. It was frustrating that when we booked there was very limited possibility for reserving a meal. I was surprised they didn't keep a few tables for residents. But there's plenty locally and it wasn't an issue. Friendly staff, plentiful parking, clean, warm. All good.

Room noisy view of roof and nothing else. Loud system on roof running all night. Room 6. Steer clear. Sheets clean but stained…. Won’t be staying here again. I think it must depend on which room you get to how good your stay is.

Room next door were loud & walls are paper thin. Could do with curtains as well as a blind to block out light on an evening.

Easy access to scenic areas. Decent facilities. Rooms: walls a bit thin - could hear next door voices and snoring.

Some mould evident in the shower. Toilet difficult to flush. Nucebteak

We always stay here when we are going to Cartmel races. Lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. Breakfast is a must!! Rooms are clean and well laid out. Showers are amazing! Plentiful tea and coffee in room too. 5 star!

Checking in beforehand on the app made things a lot easier. We were welcomed warmly by staff. The hotel and the room was immaculate and very cosy. The beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely go back in the future.
