The Feathers Hotel

What a lovely hotel, really friendly staff, clean, room really big and had the added extra of a fan in the heat wave which was most welcome. Parking is available but gets busy pretty quick. The food is amazing, particular the fish of the day, a definite recommendation.

Staff were polite, friendly and welcoming, the room was immaculate and the air conditioning was an added bonus. Breakfast was also well worth the additional cost.

Great staff and a great atmosphere, sadly being a few hundred years old there was the minor inconvenience of not having air conditioning 😂 If you are planning a trip to this excellent hotel, do it direct and not through the Expedia ,who charged £50 more than the hotel invoice.

Clean room, oat milk sachets as well as normal for tea and coffee. Cold water provided in fridges. Old building but well maintained. Car park was tight but able to park which was convenient

Good parking available at £13 a week behind the hotel rather than the £7.50 per night the hotel charge. Staff try their best but are young and too inexperienced to run a hotel like this. Dining tables are horribly sticky, but the food is good. Breakfast slots are pointless as it still took 40 minutes for our cooked breakfast to arrive. Rooms are unbearably hot in the evening despite some air conditioning units in the rooms. Suites are spacious but poorly furnished. Management needs to take a good look at what is happening.

Difficult to describe - it's just an historic hotel in an ideal situation with excellent staff and very nice catering. Breakfast is first class.

We stayed in the hotel for one night on 27 June 2026. Lovely old hotel with the real character. The staff were very helpful and we had a great time. The only issue/observation is relating to the fully decorated Christmas tree next to the reception. I found the Christmas tree at this time of the year is just not appropriate.

Beautiful old hotel well situated in the beautiful town of Ludlow Shropshire! Room was clean and staff were welcoming and helpful! Restaurant was lovely with great choices for breakfast and also had a lovely dinner! Parking is secure although can get full quickly! There are other close options for parking! Only other comment I would make that there were a lot of stair to get to my room so may not be suitable for disabled! There is a lift but still quite a few stairs to get to my room! There may be ground floor options for disabled but I didn’t need it so was fine for me! There were even some stairs up to the toilet in the bathroom! All in all a great hotel in a very good location! Would definitely stay again!

Location is the best, central to everything. Relaxing lounge rooms to have a drink. The restaurant was a bit faulty towers but the food was very nice. Good fan provided in room which is needed during warm weather. Friendly staff, unique old building, would stay there again. Ludlow is a very nice village to walk around.

Helpful staff but room was near kitchen and smelt of stale fat. Also mini fridge had not been cleared of previous residents food.

Excellent location in the town centre. Lots of historic culture. Staff very friendly and excellent food.

The room was ok however the bathroom had black mould in the shower grouting and the seal around the glass shower panel was dirty The bathroom inner frame was dirty /mouldy and looked to be starting to rot When we opened the inner window/secondary glazing there was cobwebs in between the frames There seemed to be a problem with housekeeping as there was a delay in checking in as the room was not ready We stayed 2 nights and the next day the housekeeping was cursory and also delayed We will not be staying again despite the very pleasant young staff

We didn't like the bedroom very basic for the price. Room service was poor.

Very tired rooms, in really in need of maintenance. Overheard guests complaining to the management over lack of room cleaning, no clean towels, no beds being made, rooms not serviced at all.. there were multiple guests complaining. Parking was great, very convenient. We didn't use the bar or have breakfast, I wouldn't stay again.

Bathroom grubby, staff in restaurant and bar excellent, at reception less so. Food average and over priced.

Clean and lovely. Hotel is a historic charm. Do not expect corporate hotel, this is VERY old but delightful. There is no sound proofing, no even floors etc. If you are dull and complain about minor traffic noise etc, do not even bother staying here. This is a place for people who love history and appreciate the engineering of yesteryear. Staff were helpful.

A lovely old world charm about the hotel. Very nice, spacious room, excellent staff & fantastic location in the heart of Ludlow. On- site parking available which was also great.

Really nice hotel staff were friendly . Got in the car park ok as it in the week . Everything is walking distance . We didn’t have breakfast but I walked past and it did look good . Room was clean hairdryer Iron iron board in the room . Tea coffee in room Shower was great didn’t have shampoo conditioner and shower gel just had hair and body wash all in one which I didn’t care anyway I would definitely stay again .

This hotel has bags of character and is a refreshing change from the likes of Premier Inn. If you don't like creaky floors and things not being level, then this place is not for you! But if you want a warm, comfortable place to rest your head in the middle of the town with friendly staff and great food, then look no further

Parking is a bit of a squeeze but we did get a space although there is ample, easier parking at the library close by. We didn’t stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that. Initial receptionist (Easter Sunday) was okay but the receptionist on Easter Monday was friendly, informative and quite lovely which Sunday reception could maybe take a leaf from. Room was so airy, quiet and big so it was a shame to not have twin beds for our teens (who are big) and had to share a small sofa bed, in comparison mine and my husband’s bed was comfortable and big, very nice but felt a bit guilty. Luckily there was a little window area so my youngest son took over that area, pulling the net curtain to while my older son sat on the bed. Hotel exterior is so stunning and location is absolutely fabulous. I will return.
