We stayed for a friends wedding, the Garden Rooms are absolutely stunning and were a stones throw from the wedding venue (Newton Hall). The beds were so comfy, the grounds were immaculate and it was a short walk down to the most gorgeous beach! Breakfast was also delicious, we will be back!

We were so excited to stay here on our honeymoon night and forked out for a room with a hot tub to make it extra special. We have an 8 month old who was getting looked after by his grandparents so we were very excited for one unbroken night's sleep. However at 4:30am we were awoken by a group of people in the next room having a party. We'd purposely booked this venue as it promised "gorgeous beds for the ultimate night's sleep" but the party continued on with no sign of a member of staff stopping it. At 5am we called the duty manager who said the party was probably from the wedding, implying that they were expecting it. It was all very disappointing. By 5:30am the noise had died down but we were worked up by this point so struggled to get back to sleep. It was a real shame as the cabin was lovely and we had had a nice meal at the joiners arms the night before. But coming away unrested after paying so much made us wish we'd chosen somewhere else to stay.

When we arrived the complimentary water bottles had been opened and one was 1/4 empty. The area around the hot tub had the previous guests wine cork and rubbish left on the floor . The hot tub lid was obviously broken and the hot tub was filled to the brim so it overflowed everywhere and our slippers were soaked ! But most annoying is the fact that either due to this or the kid not being closed it was not hot at all rather than just warm ! I couldn’t sit in it and this was the sole purpose of our reason to stay ! The staff were lovely though and the bed comfy, with a bit of TLC I am sure they could be lovely again but our room was just all a bit tired ! And for a much needed break very disappointing!

Style over substance. Does the trick as somewhere to stay but not sure on the quality of the buildings …. Damp and mould creeping everywhere, you can even feel the soggy rotting floor underfoot in the room. Definitely not worth the money. Targeting those who need somewhere to stay for a wedding. Outside area was strewn with packaging and empty cans. Staff were, however, extremely helpful and lovely!

Amazing little getaway!🌟 The lodges are soo spacious, and comfortable. The facilities in them were fab! I loved the decor too. One thing the ad doesn’t mention is that the lodge does have a fridge! (we were worried it didn’t as we brought fridge food with us) Pre-booking the pub down the road is essential for your stay, be that breakfast or an evening meal. When we arrived they only had 9am availability for breakfast the following day and after 8pm for evening reservations.

It was lovely place to spend our mini Christmas holiday . We have been surprised the rooms looked better then at the pictures. Was a small kitchen . We could have every night dinning, nice family table. Just missing in the room vase for flowers. The rooms was clean . Everything perfect ! Not far shops for food .

Gorgeous room let down by a very uncomfortable bed. “Hot tub” not what we thought no jets/bubbles was basically a warm bath outside.

The overall experience at the Garden Rooms was good. We would return, though there were a few things which disappointed us. The large sliding doors to the outside were very difficult to open. We are not feeble but it was almost impossible to slide due to being very heavy and stiff. The room itself smelt very strong of wood smoke from the chimnea, we did not use it during our stay. Also, the couch was extremely stained, i assume from people sitting on it when wet after using the hottub. It looked really uninviting and therefore we did not use it. Breakfast in the main hall was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. Especially the Americam lady on reception who had recently started working there.

Our stay exceeded all expectations and we absolutely loved it! Our room was modern, clean and well equipped with more amenities than we were expecting which is always lovely including little touches like extra refreshments on top of the expected tea and coffee and a smart tv with access to all usual steaming services. We loved the hot tub (which is serviced by staff daily) and the chiminea with firewood which made for the perfect evenings in such a quiet and tranquil setting. We ate breakfast both mornings in the main hall which was exceptional, such large portions and high quality ingredients. All the staff were so lovely and attentive we could not recommend more! We staying a detached double garden room which felt so private and special and we wouldn't hesitate to book again!

We had a fantastic stay in a Garden Room at Newton Hall, all the staff we met were so helpful and friendly. The facilities were well appointed and clean. Breakfast delivered to the room and in the dining room at the hall were delicious. The room was warm, cosy and the balcony with hot tub was very private. We had a s’mores kit and cocktail kit from the Hall which kept adults and kids very happy!

I would absolutely come back to Newton Hall and stay in the Deluxe Garden Room with hot tub/soaking tub in the garden. It was nice and quiet and really private. There aren't enough breakfast slots for the number of rooms to have a full breakfast at the Joiners Arms which is a little disappointing, we arrived the same time as two other couples and when it was our turn to book the only slot left was 8am and we wanted a lie in so had to get the one delivered to the room. However, we were more than happy with the hot sausage and bacon roll, we also received juice, yoghurt, nakd bars, and 2 pastries per person - a significant amount of food! The fish and chips are good from the Joiners arms but £20 for fish and chips is outrageous, the smallest pot of curry sauce was an additional £3. There is no other choice in the area. A lovely spot to explore the beaches, the two pubs in Newton are very sweet and a great place for a drink after a big walk. Will be back!
