What Guests Say About Their Stay

I stayed on a Saturday night. The decor is a little dated but the room was very comfy and clean. The breakfast was great and the lady that served us was hilarious. I would definitely stay here again. Just to bear in mind that there are no lifts so you would need to be able to deal with stairs if you stay here.

Due to being so cold through night, we didnt sleep until the bedroom heated and consequently, being so tired, we missed breakfast. This was a special time for us... But sadly it was ruined by the room being so cold. We were booked for Saturday night so wanted to cancel, but were told it was too late. So it proved to be so expensive and a disappointment. We are very elderly and I feel we were badly let down. Having said that we found the staff were absolutely wonderful! Very helpful and so kind...from receptoon (particularly reception Wednesday afternoon until 11pm went the extra mile for which ... many thanks

No lift to room. 4 flights of stairs. Room was hot and stuffy (stayed in December) and tired. Very average room. Breakfast was ok, server had no idea about coeliac and gluten free options. This isn’t acceptable and was surprising as most places now very aware of allergens etc. Our daughter ended up with a limited choice and still charged full price. When we checked out the receptionist didn’t ask how our stay was or show any interest. We didn’t even get a goodbye. Wouldn’t stay here again

Although this is a convenient hotel for Gateshead and especially the Metro Centre, it is very dated. There is no customer lift and quite steep stairs to climb with a suitcase if you are on the second floor which we were. The staff are nice and helped me get my suitcase down when we were checking out through the service lift. However, this is quite a dated hotel with basic amenities and not a place you would go stay at for a treat.
