The Samuel Ryder Hotel St Albans Tapestry Collection Hilton

A very well located hotel with great decor! Our room and bathroom was clean and fresh! A good sized twin room with enough space for 2 sharing adults. We had a good night sleep without any disturbance from traffic noise or other guests. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked well, with great vegetarian options. This hotel is right opposite the cathedral and on a high street with many restaurants and coffee shops. Thank you to the staff at reception and breakfast for a great service with a smile.

Second time we’ve stayed at Samuel Ryder hotel and it is always very enjoyable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Great location - close to cathedral, good selection of restaurants and shops. Walking distance to train station - lots of trains into London.

Parking is free but off site and a walk of about 10 minutes back to the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Really well maintained and the room was really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely too. The reception area has a really strong air freshener which I felt was over powering. Lovely scent but a little headache inducing if you ask me.

Cleaners making noise about us at 8 am was not good at all

Hotel is somewhat difficult to navigate if you arrive with a car. You have to navigate your way through streets One way streets. There’s no easy way to pull up in front of the hotel and unload also if you have any mobility issues the front door of the building requires the guest to climb steps manually open doors three in fact. Saint Alban‘s is a very old city and many of the building exteriors are protected. So I don’t necessarily blame the hotel for the entrance difficulties. Once you checked in the rooms are very comfortable clean and modern the bathroom was excellent. The shower was great. Going back to the car issue. They claimed to have parking which they do however, It requires the guest to park offsite, which is about a quarter of a mile away. So, Be prepared to walk a bit.

Overall excellent. Could definitely do with a few extra bits and pieces in the room... Qtips, water bottles, toothpaste, etc. Breakfast was delicious!

Location of the hotel is excellent ; access to the heart of St Albans is very convenient!4 days at the viewless room is a disappointment.

Really nice room, central location, helpful staff.

We liked the room but we slept very badly due to the noise of the outside boiler and the vent in the bathroom.

Amazing central hotel. Everything very clean and organised. My room was huge. Enjoyed the lovely breakfast and staff was super attentive! I will definitely come back!

We had a great one night stay, room was lovrly, tastefully decorated, confy bed, soft fluffy towels, great tea and coffee facilities. Perfect location for the town. Reception staff were lovely. Only downside was lack of offerings in the bar, quite limited and not the friendliest response when we enquired about a certain drink.

Very nice, stylish, clean hotel. Room chic, bed and bedding super comfy, nice shower. Happy, welcoming friendly staff.

Go here several times a year as we have family nearby. Very comfortable. Every time I book they send me an email saying to ask about complimentary upgrades when we check in and every time I ask they say no. Would be nice if just the once they would upgrade us since we have been there over a dozen times.

All good, lovely story behind the building. Great restaurants in the surrounding area, fab wine bar 2 mins up the street

Very comfortable room

A lovely stylish room that was clean and comfortable. The hotel in general made the most of the features of its historical building. While I did not use the bar or restaurant they looked very nice. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of St Albans close to many restaurants, bars, pubs, and venues. I was luck to get a parking space at the hotel itself - the overflow parking would have been frustrating as it was difficult enough to get to the hotel in heavy traffic to then have to drive to the overflow down busy narrow streets.
